Best goal scorers happily sat while bench players got extra time. Girls were told 5 passes then shoot with your non dominant foot...drop everything to keeper and play out of the back (great skill building and gives the other team some chances to score if you mess up), etc.

Personally I wouldn't be giving media interviews if my kid's coach let a 25-0 game happen. I would be too embarrassed. And just remember when you get that reputation other teams take notice...and there's a REAL superstar team out there just waiting to lay 25 goals on you.
Simplest solution is to take players of the field. Play 9v11 or 8v11 or whatever it takes to make it a "game".

It happened last year so they were already probably playing 7 v 7 with the little nets on small fields.

      25-0. I just can't imagine a good explanation.

        Great lesson for little kids.

It's been over a year. Get over it dude. I have had girls play on teams that have been on both sides of big losses. Seems the parents have a lot tougher time with it than the kids. Pretty sure they can get over it and move on. Not saying its fun to watch no matter what side of it your on, but seriously. An entire year later and this person can't stop mentioning it every chance they get.

No wonder this area can't compete with other regions. Our parents argue, whine, and cry about wins, losses, playing time, etc.. Instead why don't you try using it as an opportunity to teach your own kids. How to win and loose and deal with it and move on to improve. Or you can just teach them to complain, whine, cry, for years and years.

That will pass quickly, I hope...

Did the coach apologize after the game?

I hear he apologized to his parents for not making it 40-0.

Will you give it a rest?

These are little girls. It's not a big deal. The only people that care about 9 year old girls soccer are the moms of the girls and the occasional over zealous dad.

Long before the mercy limits they have now, I was 8 played softball. We didn't have a pitcher that could throw strikes. So the other teams coach told them not to swing. We gave up 25 run by the second inning. It was hours. Finally it got dark and we quit the game. It was humiliating losing like that. Every boy and girl on that team quit that week.

So let's just calm down ok?

We can only hope that a team up North has the same philosophy as this coach on the day you played the 25 to 0 team. I would pay a ticket to see this set of parents have the same experience those poor kids did in the 90 degree heat.

I was at one of the games up north when they played a Seattle team and got throttled like 3-0....the other team had restrictions the entire second half and still held the ball more than pacific....watching the game it could have been 10-0 easily but they chose not to lay the wood to pacific....difference in coaching styles

The parents make it sounded like this game could have gone either way?

Pacific didn't get 3 shots on goal the entire game...

Why not? What was the issue? They seem to have no competition down here.
