This is correct. OYSA and the Timbers have to justify splitting soccer in Oregon by somehow pretending to differentiate themselves from the OPL. Small-sided games is what they have decided to use as the first differentiator. When that doesn't pan out, they'll try something different.

Actually, that was how OPL differentiated themselves to begin with, by refusing the small sided game approach. OYSA already went down the small sided games path. In my opinion the primary differentiators between OYSA and OPL are twofold:

      1) OPL provides a voice to a very select few and does not represent the entire state of Oregon; OYSA is a state wide organization that focuses on what is best for youth soccer irrespective of which club the child members with; and

      2) OPL is run by a few select DOCs and those they allow in; OYSA has contracted a major league soccer franchise to run the competitive soccer programs.

Stop kidding yourselves. This is all about GW and the Timbers wanting money and control over youth soccer. Small sided game is a bonus.

OPL represented everyone. EMFC may not have been a voting member, but they were represented at OPC meetings. Other clubs could have participated if they chose to as well.

How may clubs are voting members of the OYSA?

Clubs aren't voting members, The OYSA board has representatives from geographies not from clubs, these representatives are asked to represent the needs of multiple clubs, thereby reducing the number of self-focused decisions. Anyone can attend OYSA meetings. When was the last time OPC had an open board meeting?

It is a joke to even claim OPL represented everyone, they outright stated that they didn't desire to represent everyone…

Keep trying, but you are failing...
