I think you need to be a little more humble and not toot your horn. Even though my daughter was asked to travel to Seattle and play on an Encl team, I am not going around and telling everyone. I think it is tacky. You ignore the Christmas spirit by not celebrating Jesus, who like Onyx, rules without having to blow his own trumpet. Life lessons are hard to learn. I, however, have found that I receive in spades when I treat the non winners like the Timber teams, even the other OPL teams, with respect. I do not ring the bells or yell at the other parents after each victory. My dd and I get in our very nice European car and we eat at the Cheesecake Factory where, trust me, nothing goes to waste. We are bigger than life people with big hopes and dreams. We remember the little people, like elves, and give thanks that we are so blessed. Have a beautiful holiday.

When people complain about other's celebrating their success, or how they are too proud, and so on, only exemplifies their petty jealousy.

Do the world a favor and eat paint!

As an ECNL discovery player, who has no allegiance to her own team, and is only in it for herself, and who will screw over any teammate on my way to my goals, I approve of this message.

When people have to complain that someone toots there horn too loud or is too proud of their children's (not their own) accomplishments, it only highlights their arrogance. Sit back and ask yourself this...are you actually proud of your (child's) accomplishments, or are you happier about the edge you believe it gives you over everyone else. You do not have to yell from the tower when you are proud. Yelling from the tower is much more emblematic of vanity.

Different Chuy. The Jesus I played with had an anger control problem.

I had an anger control problem when I played in a Catholic league, it made me a great defender.

I bet. Soccer back when I was a kid seemed alot rougher than it is today. Yellow cards were normal. Slide tackling was a given. Kids were hauled out on stretchers.

After 7 years watching my DD participate in Oregon Premier soccer with much success with multiple coaches and nearly 75% team turnover I have to ask why you think there needs to be any "team loyalty"?

There is little to no Club loyalty to us parents otherwise there would not be such a level of coaching turnover for a very successful team. The turnover reflects even less loyalty from the coaches so tell me why a player owes anything to any body other than their OWN development as a player?

Are we supposed to ask our children to put their ambition on hold for some sense of obligation? Maybe if there was a paycheck involved you could ask for loyalty but since we are paying for the development of our DD the concept of team loyalty is a rather naïve attitude IMHO!
