It's better than no high quality teams

There was actually 2 different projects scheduled for Delta park. One included ***C which fell through due to the city not going through the bidding process. However, the Timbers also joined with Delta park to put in a field and training facility for their youth programs.

Well, as a parent of a daughter on one of those teams (THUSC, FCP, OSSA) I will say thank goodness I don't have to watch my daughters team pound on some weak ass B team every weekend. As my daughter prepares for college, I would much rather her play THUSC FCP, or OSSA every weekend, because then I know that she is at the very least being challenged. These 3 teams are by far the best in the state and no other teams come close. What does OYSA have at U18G's??? That's right!! A bunch of rec teams. Great if your daughter has no intentions of ever playing soccer in college. I know that over 90% of the girls on these 3 teams have already given verbals and more to come. These 3 teams are focused soley on prepping for college soccer. That my friend is a "good thing". OPL will be just fine at this age and every other age. Why can't you just go to OYSA and let us OPLer's do our thing??? Why are you so defensive about an alliance and a league that hasn't even yet begun????

You're daughter can make the Timbers/Thorns Academy team(s). That way you won't have to rationalize why playing 2 other medicore Oregon teams each weekend is worthwhile.

          Good luck :)

The reality is that the weak ass B teams you're referring to are every other team in OPL, and FCP is only marginally better than the B teams of THUSC and OSSA. The only good games your daughter will get are when OSSA plays THUSC. If you think that's a good thing for your daughter, more power to ya. BTW, there are girls all around the state who have committed to play college soccer. I respect THUSC's and OSSA's players, and respect a few on FCP. Some terrific players, but they don't have a monopoly on the next level, and their second teams certainly don't.
