    Soccer family seeking a club

We are a soccer family moving to southern Oregon. My daughters are very competitive and play gold level club in u12, u11 and u9 in Los Angeles. What clubs would you recommend? LA soccer has arguably the most competitive youth programs in the country and they perform amongst the highest on their academy teams, and in the state. Should they play up in age? With boys? Looking for a Oregonian opinion on youth soccer 101. I hold a US soccer advanced coaching lisense in California, is this transferable if I decide to coach. I appreciate experienced opinions and any feedback you can provide.
    God Bless :-)

    Not too many options

Your options will be limited in Southern Oregon. If you are in the Medford area, the Rogue Valley Club would be your best option. Pretty much any town in Southern Oregon there is only going to be one club available to you. I would consider having them move up 1 year if they are that good. But you have to check with the local club and see what there policies are regarding players playing up. Best thing to keep in mind is this is not Southern California and you may have to remind yourself of that many times.

With girls, it is often more important to be on a team with class mates in school than to be playing up on a older team. If you are planning on staying in the area for a while, keep that in mind.

As far as coaching licenses, I would say in Southern Oregon it is not all that critical. I don't know what you mean by a US Soccer advanced coaching license. US Soccer has licenses from the F level to the A level. The A, B, and C level courses are all one week long. D, E, and F require less time and are held on a more local level. If you have a D or C license from US Soccer, you should be able to coach just about anywhere in Southern Oregon. There are other courses available through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). I am not as familiar with the courses and their US Soccer equivalents. NSCAA has different names for their courses than US Soccer. Both organizations have good coaching resources. NSCAA is a little weak out here on the West coast in my opinion. Meaning, they are not as prevalent here compared to US Soccer in terms of the coaching courses that are put on.

    Best of luck to you.
