Just look at the number of threads polluting this blog with anti-OPL threads. Those that aren't specifically about the OPL are littered with anti-OPL posts. Give it a rest already.

Opl parents have actually been the worst. So comical.
It's the opl whiner machine! Reflects the parents vividly.

This is not a BLOG, this is a chat board, BLOGS, are not generally threads of people discussing something, they are one authors thoughts on a subject.

The OPL/OPC was dreamed up by the same person that planted the seed of the Timbers Alliance and then ultimately moved the alliance under the OYSA umbrella. Honestly there never should have been a split to begin with. I have nothing against OPL teams or parents, what I have a problem with is the elitist attitude of a few metro area clubs that they and they alone should determine the fate of competitive youth soccer within our small state to the detriment of all youth outside our lovely metro area. Not surprisingly, the OPL concept is caving in a little. Can they survive without the rest of the clubs? Of course they can just as the OYSA clubs survived without the OPL.
You have to ask yourself what you think is best for ALL youth soccer in Oregon.
For me it is simple, the OPL should never have been formed in the first place. Now that it is all correcting itself it is painful for those caught in the transition. It was painful for my child when the OPL split off to begin with and we were left with a crumbling ODP program that parents couldn't afford and having to compete in the FWR league in order to get competition. So, I am not immune to the angst that it causes.
At the end of the day I believe this is a good thing.

Still waiting for the OPL to come on TS and tell us what they have left to offer and how they can deliver on the promises they made?
I hear quality is the number one selling point but I have yet to hear how that would change if they JOINED.
It's not like they have to switch to being TA clubs or anything.
