What does an OPL club lose going to OYSA

I really need an OPL supporter to explain to me what is "lost" by rejoining the OYSA?

I see that by staying out of the OYSA you will not have access to the best competition in either sex.

I see the alternative to getting equal or better competition as being more expensive than rejoining.

I see that some of you risk seeing your boys programs wither on the vine.

So other than having your DOC's call the shots what are the down sides?

But doesn't OPL have home and away anyway already for premier and npl U13 and up? So just two years of 1 or 2 games outside of Portland a season is enough to have your club lose boys and not have the best competition all together?

It will be alot more away games for you. And how is the league supposed to survive asking all of those lower league teams to travel like that?? Do you think those little B & C teams are going to want to drive to Eugene, Medford, Bend for regular season games?? So when OYSA/TA eventually loses those B & C teams, how will those Premier & NPL teams survive financially????

I hate to break it to you but the other OYSA teams parents don't drive Hummers and they have been making that trip all these years just the way the OPL clubs did before the split.

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound for whining about travel when the ONLY big improvement the OPL brought to Oregon Premier soccer was the NWCL which....wait for it....wait for it INCRASED the cost of travel and REQUIRED and over night stay!

GMFB about three league trips out of the metro area. So for $150 in gas you are willing to cut off half of the competition you had? JFC you are a short sighted fool.

I was going to find something to respond to "best competition in either sex", but was afraid what google might come up with.

Again, I was talking about those B & C teams, not Premiere, not NWCL. I was referring to those lower level teams. The ones that you need to support the club with.

Just look in your current OPL division or any division for that matter, Most divisions only have 1 of the Bend/Eugene/Medford teams. That's how many away games the Pdx B/C teams would have - probably one, and a very rare max of 3. Doubt many players would switch clubs due to that - esp with all the other benefits of being with more of the competition. This travel scare tactic is just that. Seriously, not much to fear on the travel side.

No, he's the "disclosure" monitor. If you reply at all with factual reason, he wants to know if you are party to either side of the discussion.

I would consider the "disclosure" monitor a compliment - thank you.

Slow Xavi, don't get discouraged, there are some of us on here who appreciate a balanced even perspective. The issue these OPL partisans are having with logic and reason is their position is neither logical or reasonable...
