    Question

The Portland Timbers won the west and have a great chance of moving deep into the playoffs.

On the other side of things the Timbers management have made some very interesting decisions.

One, they are increasing their youth soccer involvement through the alliance teams, OYSA and of course ODP.

The DA teams are off to another rocky start, the U-23's lost their NW flavor, ODP as whole is under a lot of criticism for rising costs and the lack of over quality, especially with the training centers.

I would think everyone would say the head coach of the MLS team is doing great, but what about the management and involvement in other areas.

I would like to hear from you, what are the Timbers doing well and what are they doing poorly. Will those negative experiences translate into different buying habits in Timber related products such as tickets, gear, club and etc.

    Thanks

You know what would be funny? You go and find GW in a pub somewhere tonight and after a few pints tell him that. I bet that would be good fun.

Let us know when and where. I'd buy a round just to see it.

              ?

Havent heard alot of people to upset with the RTC, and ODP. Pretty good value for the money. It is pretty competitive and a bit of a grind for players week in and week out... But i think that is the point. Some players rise to the task and some find there level and have to make decisions for next year. I think you may get some sour grapes form the latter group who are not realistic. It is a hard long and at times frustrating road through the ODP ranks. Makes for hard feelings and I think you can read that in these posts..

It's been a great experience for the girls from my daughters club team. The coaches are really good. So are our club coaches, but its great to get training from another pro. I think they have all gotten a lot better as a result. A lot cheaper than other training options.

Well regarding the U-23 or other DA teams, it's not about the team and it's wins/losses. In my opinion it's about individual talent. who develops and who can eventually help the 1st team.

My daughter was invited to Holdover camp and this is our last year because how much the cost has increased along with the travel of her club team

There is scheduled soon a HUGE meeting at USYSA all about ODP, it's direction, curriculum, league structures, management, etc. Look for some changes soon.
