    Nwcl - u14g

What teams have the best chance this weekend:

FC - seems a lock to advance
Timbers, EMFC and Salmon Creek need to go 2-1 and hope that a few f these other teams don't go 2-1
LOSC and THUSC need to go 3-0 and hope for a lot of help

THUSC and Timbers seem to have the easiest schedules.

Not sure why you say Timbers need help... If timbers go 2-1 and everyone else does they are locked in. Salmon Creek MUST outdo Timbers if they want to move on.

The team that was a "lock to advance" ended up finishing in last place after 3 losses this weekend. And the Timbers ended up 3 points clear in first place.

Interesting is that on the Washington side, ISC ended up in first place. Indicative of the diminished strength of the RCL following the migration of talent to the ECNL teams, who didn't participate.

Seattle united was a bust it seems while thusc made a really strong run.

Eastside did as expected. Would be really interested to see what PAC nw, nw nationals or Spokane would do in nwcl.

Hats off to thusc for winning when it counts.

Teams go through ups and downs. Its the better team on that day or weekend that go through.

THUSC only gave up 1 goal against 4 very good teams from Seattle. That was some tough D. Well done girls. Good luck in December. Overall I thought all the OPL teams did very well against WA teams.

Seems that thusc is peaking at the right time while FCP and Eugene are struggling to make things work. Way to represent thusc!

THUSC played well -but now lets see them bring that back to the OPL.

Exactly what will happen in PDX if/when a club is accepted into the ECNL. Not passing judgment, just the reality of consolidating talent. Talent drain may even be more pronounced in PDX due to smaller overall numbers.

So are you saying that all of the talent is at Crossfire?

It certainly is not at the other ECNL team, Washington Premier.

While I understand this is a GU14 thread my comment was more general in nature and includes all ages. The real move seems to be the U15 year.
Specific to the 99 age group:
The Crossfire G99 team may not have "all" the talent but they sure managed to acquire a lot of very talented players from other Seattle clubs. It has had a noticeable effect on the RCL. Just look at NWN & Rush '99 teams.
My guess is there will be a large influx of interested players for next years WPFC ECNL 99 team. It wouldn't surprise me if there are a couple PDX based kids either.
Another prediction is that the Crossfire 99 ECNL team will only get stronger next year (U15) as the more talented players from other clubs make the move. Their current bottom 4 players will be gone next year.

With OR soccer all F'd up for the next few years we will probably see a couple of our best migrate to the North for an ECNL opportunity. Whether that's in the form of discovery players or fully rostered players. If I were Crossfire / WPFC I'd be recruiting heavily in OR & SW WA! Just say'in

Why would they want to recruit players out of Oregon. From what I have seen, the talent level is pretty mediocre. The best players in Oregon are at best middle of the road players in the Seattle area.

It has less to do with ECNL than the fact that Crossfire is a very strong club with or without ECNL. The point was made about the talent migrating to ECNL clubs. Eastside and other clubs in WA are still stronger than Washington Premier.

Not only are the top players from Oregon on par with their Washington peers you should know that the Oregon and SW WA players who participated on ECNL teams last year started and played significant minutes contributing to their teams success.

But you wouldn't know that unless you were there which you obviously were NOT.
