As a non-TA member, I couldn't be happier to not have to deal with the covens of the world that reside in the same ugly uniforms!

I am not involved but lived thru the last split. Let the clubs work it out unless you have counseling/arbitrating/leadership skills and want to get involved. Talk to your coach and club or leaders if you are concerned. I think most people want the same thing so try to find out more before you jump to conclusions. Remember you may be with someone for high school, ODP, etc. There are always changes in life, try to enjoy your time with your kid. It will be over before you know it.

This is exactly the same as the last split and completely different at the same time.
In the end the competitive shifted to where the competition was and the kids all grew up and became students, teachers, politicians, preachers, believers, leaders, astronauts, champions and truth seekers.

We plan to stay away from Timbers clubs. Not keen on travelling to Bend, Medford, Eugene every 4th weekend.
I don't like that their plan to "unify" soccer means that they try and compete with an organization that has been run okay. (I'm not one of the top 8 OPL clubs either).
I don't want to compete in an all red league.
I don't want to be a slave to whatever price the TA decides to charge.

Years ago playing for National Championship was special making your way thru Far West Regionals, but since ECNL has come along that isn't close to the tournament it once was. I do like with OPL comes NWCL and also winnning OPL comes NPL Championship, but I still wish for only 1 Premier league

No plans to switch clubs. Don't care whether my kids play OPL or OYSA. Don't care about travel or not.
Personally, I think that the mega club phenomenon is the best reason NOT to play for a Timbers team. Do we really think that a club can "develop" 3 or more teams of kids in a single age group? Suspect the "A" teams are happy but the rest of the pack are just numbers=$ for the borg (reference Star Trek). I don't want my kid to play for an organization the bolsters a "B" roster with "A" players just to win games. That certainly doesn't "develop" the B team. It's stupid. My kids are developing more playing nearly every minute of every game on lesser "A" teams with great coaching. Plus the uniforms are ugly. And really,as another post aptly pointed out, our kids are with us for a short time and we really should just be trying to enjoy the experience.
