I've been through the various incarnations of this club, VUSA, Columbia Timbers and now ***. Lots of talk in the past.

Like I said, get'ir done! I can't wait to use them, it'll be a great for soccer and other stuff.

Why finance the entire thing? The long term goal is to build three more fields and leave two grass fields....right now there are a couple of local businesses that have shown interest. Locking up the bonds is only going to get $1.6 million at around $90k per year payments.....if ***C can knock that down then they can work on the parking lot and more fields.............quit hanging yourself on this failing....the first set of fields will be happening and there is a lot of horse power to make it happen....
Any plans to put away about $50K each year for turf maintenance and replacement? Or is that not an issue right now? 10 years max and you need to rip them all up and start over... So annually $90K for the bonds, $50K for maintenance, $20K to finance the lights. Look for your fees to go up substantially next year. May have to fire a couple of DoCs to make the payments. Now THAT would be an improvement!

Club fee's are going to jump up. If you looked at how much money each team pays in turf/lights in the winter you would realize how much money the club is saving to have its own fields. For example (these are just rough averages) If a team were to rent Doc Harris stadium for practice its 185 Dollars (including lights) for 1 hour. So lets say they share that with another team. for 3 hours of practice for the week (2 practices) thats 185 Dollars per team. So in 1 month that team is going to pay 740 dollars a month. Lets say they use it for november, december, jan, feb, march thats roughly 3700 for that 1 team. Now lets say Just your A and B team use it that much and lets say you have 28 A/B teams in the club thats a total of 103600. Okay that would be on the high end (since we know you wont be using it every single week because of holidays) but thats also for only 28 teams, that doesn't even include all the other teams that need turf.

We can also look at the math this way as a club they generally rent multiple turf fields, but lets again just look at Doc harris which is 185 dollars an hour. If the club were to rent it 4 days a week for 4 hours a day for practices. Thats 740 dollars a day and 2960 a week. Lets say the club needs to rent it for 16 total weeks (thats taking out plenty of time for holiday weeks and stuff, and is actually on the low end of total amount of weeks) for doc harris alone thats 47,360. Now realize with the amount of teams they have they have to rent multiple fields at close to the same rate as doc harris. IF they can get 3 of their own turf fields in that will save at least 150K a year in field rentals.

I guess after that long winded answer you can simply say no the fee's will not go up because of this, instead they will save a ton of money elsewhere.

I know for a fact the club doesn't pay that much a year in fields. My team would A) dream of getting turf more than once a week B) dream of getting turf with only 1 other team (sometimes it is 3 other teams and we have practiced on one field with 5 others) and, finally, C) would fall over if SD could do this math.

Let's do it the SD way. Who haven't I pissed-off enough to still get turf fields at all? OK, now of those what non-discounted rate will they offer? Wow, that's a short list. Now, how many teams can I tell to practice there, sometimes without real stadium lights? For the other field, I will tell the parents that Buckman is the best around and don't mind the drive from Washougal, it's pretty. Man I'm smart.

Red/Green teams don't pay extra for winter lights. That's included in the fee.

That was my point though. The previous poster was saying that the club fee's would go up greatly to pay for the new turf fields. I was stating that the money for the new turf fields is already in the club fee's as its going currently to all the expensive field rentals that those teams use during winter time. So the cost wont jump up greatly like they were claiming because the club will not need to rent nearly as many fields which means they can take the money currently going there and put that towards their new field costs.

these numbers have already been discussed....the merged clubs spent $115,000 from November 1 - April 1st on winter lit turf.

the current plan is to pay off the loan within 5 years which is roughly $190K/year....
so everyone asked, "where do they get the other $75K?"
***C has already had different organizations calling wanting field time.....Portland Adult League wants Friday, Sat and Sunday evenings all year long....
they want 6-11 each of those nights....and are willing to pay $85/hour...I heard just the Portland Adult League would bring in roughly $65K....

Why can't the club charge the same amount as what they're getting charged?
