I have a child who plays for ***c, I've been around here for awhile and the truth is I've heard all the same stories about the doc's and the promises of the past, but I truly believe the future of the club and the turf install is in the hands of the new Gm. I want to believe and from what I've seen so far he is working very hard to fix things at ***c. He's been on the job for less than a yr and has worked to secure the turf purchase, and is working to secure financing for the lights and install, which I believe he has secured for lights, and is also working to secure office space, but that's being held up by the county due to previous plans drawn up regarding Harmony and the other organization that shares the land. I don't think the doc's have a lot to do with the fields, but understand the frustration with them regarding not delivering promises. This whole 4 doc rotating system they tried to sell at the merger meetings has not worked IMHo as I have yet to see any of the doc's at my kids practice or games outside of an occasional pass by as they are leaving a previous game.

The facilities committee and board have been working on the financing for turf and lights. That is done. The turf has been procured and is already being warehoused locally. The installation company has been lined up and the intent is to break ground May 1. The GM is working on many things, one of which is sponsorships for the complex and individual fields. The permitting process for the new fields is underway and moving as expected. You are right, the DOCs have nothing to do with the fields or the complex, which is why it is comical that people come on here and talk as if they do. The success or lack there of for rotating DOC system is still up for review IMHO. I do see the DOC's making rounds and contributing, but I am not sold completely that this is the best structure. But I am willing to see it play out since we are only in the middle of the fall season. If there is a better way to do it, I am confident that people's voices will be heard and considered if changes make sense going in to next year.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just make one post.

Interesting article on this matter in the Columbian today, 10/22/13. According to GM, approval was just given to sell bonds and they hoping to raise $300k. *** also looking/hoping for sponsors to help with costs of installation costs.

Hmmm...all the financing supposedly a done deal??

Why finance the entire thing? The long term goal is to build three more fields and leave two grass fields....right now there are a couple of local businesses that have shown interest. Locking up the bonds is only going to get $1.6 million at around $90k per year payments.....if ***C can knock that down then they can work on the parking lot and more fields.............quit hanging yourself on this failing....the first set of fields will be happening and there is a lot of horse power to make it happen....

What you are not getting is that people are laughing at all of the misinformation. One second it is that financing is complete and this is happening and then, unfortunate to that argument, on the same day the Columbian has an article that explains bonds are needed to complete the project.

Believe me, we all want this to happen so our DK's don't have to play on those fields anymore, but the true state of the project is still unknown. Maybe have a "surge" approach like the healthcare website. By the way, if you buy those bonds you need to check yourself.

If those bonds aren't paying at least 10-12% per annum (ie. junk bonds), why even bother. The club will likely default on them long before you ever get your money back.

Finally! Someone who gets the point of my reference to yesterdays Columbian article. I know many more get it as well. It's only those that want to believe so badly or just take the word of *** without pause that I kinda feel sorry for.

I too would like to see the turf fields built so my child can have decent fields to play on. The contradictions along the way are just amusing. Not sure i'll be purchasing the bonds.

You are incredible. That is exactly the freak'n point. I don't believe what I read on this site and was just proving my belief that *** is the perfect abbreviation. I was simply challenging the nonsense being spewed on the forum. If that doesn't help your agenda then that's unfortunate.
