I notice when Copa loses people are all over this forum giving reasons why. The main one seemed to be that they're unathletic. Now that they're back to winning its silent. Gotta love the haters.

You are making stuff up. Nobody said they were unathletic. If you can find that, I'd like to see it. What people were debating was if you'd rather have athletes or skill. I for one repeatedly said that you cannot teach athleticism, but you can teach skill. So give me the athletes so that I can develop skill on top of it. If you ain't athletic, you'll never be athletic.

So don't make stuff up. Go ahead and toot Copas horn all you want. They still have fallen from last year when they were supposed to be steamrolling teams this year. I like me some hood river.

Outside of a couple of kids, Copa doesn't have enough pure athleticism. Great skills, smart players, super athletic? not so much.

That's one person's opinion. Copa is still athletic. Maybe not as athletic as 2 or 3 teams, but they are athletic... anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves.

Given that they should be BETTER this year than they have been in the past, it is still curious that they seem more beatable and float in the middle of the standings. Is this just happenstance or have some of the more athletic teams closed the gap in skill?

What happened to Bend between last year and this year? Looks like they barely made it last year to the big leagues and it's painful to see they can't hack it.

They lose to almost everyone they play now. How did they ever beat Samba?

I believe it's more about a coaching change with a different style of play who demands much more out of his team. When you get a new coach it takes time to gel. They're starting to gel now and understand the game JB wants them to play. Look at JBs history. Typically when he takes over a team they have a shaky fall season and then go on to win or do well in State Cup.

well, they had their first defeat on Sat vs WAFC.....

WAFC seems to be back to normal, beating the first place team and a tie vs the second place team this weekend.

The new concept is teamwork and not individual play, moving the ball faster and trusting your teammates. Some are picking it up faster than others. Only time will tell if WST stays in the up swing but the team progress has been nice.

A little of everything. Last 3 games though...14 goals for, 3 against. Of the 3 against, one was a PK and another was a goal by the crossfire keeper (kudos to him) that was misread by the Copa keeper. Unlucky.

WAFC looks to be on a roll now...should be interesting to see how it plays out.
