One team west of the rockies, seems a little slanted toward the east coast.

It is participation and population, not popularity. Just because your tiny little Oregon HS isn't listed doesn't make it inaccurate.Waaaaa Mommys favorite Jesuit school wasn't listed...what will I brag about to the mothers on the sideline now?

Correction no Jesuit from Beaverton. Give credit to Jesuit from Cal...

Kind of hard to compare, but apparently interesting to some.

Why aren't they ranked this year? I heard they were so amazing, what happened? Why the huge drop off?

Oregon isn't the only state west of the rockies you jackwad. Cali has a massive population, and many very strong soccer programs. I could care less about Jesuit, just made an observation. What a tool.

California has a team listed. Big population. Idiot. Gross number of clubs and participation matters too. Fool. Now go back to your cubicle and pray I don't fire you.

Except for the academy kids, there aren't many club players who don't play HS too including the best players in the state. Particularly since there isn't club soccer at the HS ages right now unless you go across the river.

No quality high school soccer in California I guess. Who would have thought.

As the USSDA has at least 13 Academy programs in California for HS aged boys.

Oregon has only 1 Academy program and only because the MLS Timbers have to field a team. FC PDX had a trial with the Academy program a few years back and were booted from the league for entering teams not up to the 'Academy' Standard...

                        3.8 Million people in Oregon

                        38 Million people in California.

                        Oregon has 1 Academy program/team.

                        California has 13 Academy programs/teams.

A population ratio of x10. Pretty close to the mark.

You might need to read first to understand the rankings.

                          "Rankings Critieria:
                          1. No team with less than a .750 winning percentage will be considered for a ranking. In figuring winning percentage, a tie shall count as a half win, half loss.

Jesuit Portland was at 1-1-1 at the time of the rankings listed and based on the criteria above, cannot be ranked. Their tie was in Sacramento against Jesuit Sac (#1 at that time...now #3). They then played 14 hours later to a 0-1 loss against Capitol Christian in Sacramento. Will be interesting to see what happens when league starts.

If you're here to bash JHS, though, far be it from me to stop you. BTW, congrats to BHS boys on a successful start to their season.
