    Coaches-how many teams

How many teams can a coach juggle and still do a good job with each team? Do all coaches coach more than one?

    Three is optimum

Depending on the age and tournament appetite three is the idea number for practice and game coordination. However you will find coaches taking on 4 or 5 teams however those gluttons tend to be younger teams with limited tournament or travel demands.

also depends if they have a full time job or is coaching their career and yes you have age group that factors in. Older kids need less coaching as they have assistance to help run conditioning and drills.

If they have good assistant coaches for each of their teams then this allows greater flexibility. I wouldn't expect a coach with multiple teams to be at all league games because the scheduling requests are a lot harder to manage than a summer tournament.

2-3 max for competitive teams. If 3, 1 should be a HS aged team.

It really depends on the assistant coaches. If They have good assistants then the more they can take. Personally I think 2 teams is the most. Any more than that and they have to make too many sacrifices especially during league play.

Just a reminder, its okay if your coach misses some league games and stuff as long as you trust the assistant. Its not the end of the world. especially if the head coaches are experienced.

Because that sends a great message to parents and kids about staying committed .

Just as players should practice juggling, so should coaches. Only kids should do it with soccer balls, coaches with teams. 5 minutes a day, at least

The most important thing is that they are capable of successfully coaching one team first. If they are stretched with one team, they will be inadequate for 2+. If they are inadequate for one team, they will only spread their inadequacy among multiple teams.

There is a balance between doing one thing great or a few good, a few good or several poorly, etc. If a coach is balancing between one thing good or a few poorly, the answer is obvious.
