I was all for moving back to OYSA until the Timber took over.

I don't like the idea of youth soccer in Oregon being another revenue stream for Gavin and team. Out of principle that is just wrong!

I'm reserving my opinion on this until I actually see the financial breakdown. I have heard way too many things. If its true that 3 dollars (a figure thrown around a while ago) per kid is going to the Timbers, I want to see what that money is used for. For example if that money is put right back into the ODP program for the kids then I have no issue with that. I don't think we can judge it until we know all the breakdowns.

I bet that you still attend Timbers games if you get tickets, though. And, assuming you have kids they probably also have Timbers gear. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and start picketing outside Jeld-Wen about the outrage of the Timbers being involved in youth soccer.

Actually I don't ever go to the Timbers games or do my kids wear Timbers gear. It is not because of the reason stated, but because I don't have the time to go to the games (and deal with the parking) and my kids do not like Adidas clothing.

I said I don't like the idea, but it doesn't mean I am going to start picketing. There are lots of ideas that I don't like out in the world, but it does not mean that I am going to start picketing each idea that I do not like. It may be an excercise in freedom of speech, but I don't think it is all that effective.

Probably because most of the time its not people putting together a fair assessment of the situation, instead its people bashing the TA clubs and GW.
