PCU in Premier? no way

Local leagues in Oregon don't matter. The very top teams will have to play outside OR to get appropriate competition anyways. The other teams will just play different opponents. And teams from both leagues will still play each other in tourneys. The impact of this whole thing is completely overblown...Comment

Your looking only at the near future. The OPL wont likely survive more than a few years with that many clubs leaving. Both leagues will struggle with money because they are basically splitting it now, but the OYSA league will have the Timbers now backing it so they won't have to worry about that side of it as much. I suspect that in a few years OYSA will be the main league again, and there will only be a few hold outs that will try something really off the wall to keep going outside of OYSA.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

Well you would be wrong there. A quick glance at last years winter standings shows they had the following premier teams: U17g, u17b, u18b. They also won the u16g first division. They also have a lot of teams in various divisions. You need bulk to run decent leagues. I also noticed Hillsboro had a few good teams out there and they look to be moving also. Bridlemile has announced that they are neutral. See announcement on their website. As I understand it each team will play in the league that makes the most sense for the specific team, resulting in some being in OPL, some OYSA.Comment

If that many teams are going TA and they all have to wear red then that's going to be so annoying - despite whatever benefits being a TA team brings. Please let them have a few more colors!Comment

You are missing whats going on. Its not that every team that goes to OYSA is now a Timbers alliance club, its just that the Timbers will be working with OYSA to run the league. The timbers alliance clubs are still the same club. The clubs like PCU, BSC, Hillsboro, ect, are still their own clubs, and just need to decide what league they would like to go to.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

The Timbers aren't really backing anything. They're labeling it and trying to make some money off of it; as is adidas. If it doesn't become a profit center it will be dumped.
