Well name one team for that matter that would roster 20 players and have the guest players play before actual players to win a opl league game...

I don't know what all the others clubs are doing but my guess is the number is one .

      EIGHTH GRADE WAIVER
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE COMPLETING THIS FORM:
This form is only for the use of players within the U15 age group, who are still in the 8th grade, allowing
them to play for the Fall Season with a U14 team. The use of this waiver is only for the purposes of OPL
Fall League play, and not for use during any non-OPL event (ie: Summer Tournaments).
Under Oregon Premier League rules these players are only permitted to play U14 for the Fall Season,
and may not play on more than one team during the season. This waiver applies to OPL Fall League play
only and has no relevance or jurisdiction in summer tournaments.
      The certificate below must be completed and returned to the Oregon Premier League to be verified;
once verified, you will need to keep the original copy to show to match officials on game days. Once the
certificate has expired, please discard it.
Most likely those girls are 8th graders with June or July birthdays in the U15 age group. So they aren't likely 15 until next summer and are in the same class as all the U14's.

My son used an 8th grade waiver as a U15; he has a July 28th birthday so we decided to hold him back a year in school back when he was a kindergartner.

Without the waiver he wouldn't have a place to play for the fall. I see nothing wrong with these kids playing a season with their classmates.

I don't have a 99 girl but I can promise you this is common practice. Good clubs want to give top younger players opportunities to test themselves. I will not list them for you but it is done all the time. They are only invited if it helps the team too. My kid has done it. I saw it this weekend with a different player (not fcsc)... It's extremely common practice in top washington clubs like crossfire and Wa premier. It's part of development.

And no, I'm not FCSC either. I just felt the need to respond.

SC parent here. The team played well in 7 of the 8 games this season. Simply did not score in 2 of them but was not for the lack of opportunities.

reading through this thread I learned a couple things I never knew. Both sound within the rules of OPL but beyond what I think many of us think is fair:

            (1) teams can bring players from teams in their club to help them win important games

            (2) you can be 15 before August 1 this year and still be playing in U14

I don't get either of these and wish this wasn't allowed. Given how competitive these clubs are being, pretty soon clubs will be encouraging parents to hold back their kids one year in school and signing ringers up for the club, even if just to play in a few important games.

Is it too much to ask for all the girls to be rostered on a team and to actually be U14? Seems to make too much sense to be in practice I guess.

Those U15's can only play with the U14 team for the fall season and then must go back to their U15 team for winter/spring league and state cup. It's a short window which allows the kids to play fall season, otherwise they would have to sit out 3 months.

Look at the scores of the fcsc 99 "Premier B" team. You know, the team that pays for a Premier experience, but is getting killed in Division 1.

They didn't win a single game this season until this weekend. Then, they won 8-0. Wanna place bets if this team had some guest help?

Why stop at one game? If you have some good players, the club should use them at every level and every age to win whatever they can.

I do think it is very funny that the Nemesis parents that boasted about their awesome team need 12 year olds to come in and win games for them.
Almost as funny as the fact that a 12 year old brought down these U14 teams by herself.

Totally agree with this. Anyone who has a problem with the way FCSC handles there business should find something uncompetitive for there kids to do.

Grow up and compete, or join the band.

Haha. Says the dads who's kid will soon sit the bench to watch the coach try to win some meaningless game. But hey, at least your dd's team maybe won.

Agreed! Who complains about younger players playing??

I got no problem with FCSC. A middle of the pack team doing everything it can to get a couple more wins including bringing in girls not on the team. They will probably finish ahead of THUSC for 4th. Big Deal. ( They can't pull that stuff in tournaments)

Not what I would want from a club, but to each their own.

Playing up a year happens all the time. Just a little strange when they only come up for a few games and really playing on a completely different team. But it's allowed, so FCSC not doing anything wrong when it comes to OPL play.

Don't know what the girls who are really on the roster think, but it is about them or about winning?
