I guess the reigning 6A Girls Champions Thurston should just be left out of the conversation? I'm sure it was another Jesuit parent who started this conversation. Still bent about being eliminated by Thurston last year???
Not a Jesuit parent, just a realist not sentimental. With everything Thurston lost they are definitely not in the elite of 6a this year. They'll be fine in their league but as soon as they play a top 5 team...
Easiest 6A Girls team To Pick On (Without Any Real Reason) Poll
1. Jesuit- Private School, it's unfair to everyone else, very high GPA on team.
2. Jesuit- They consistantly win their league and do pretty well in playoffs
3. Jesuit- Very few Yellow cards, Never a Red card. Must be getting Special Refs.
4. Central Catholic (They are sort of like Jesuit)
5. Thurston- Defending Champs so they deserve it

Jesuit cheated and got #1, #2, and #3. Booooo. Ha ha great rankings.

Thurston lost two great seniors. Otherwise no big changes. They will be fine against top teams.
The question should be how stupid is the ad at tualatin.
I don't disagree that there were probably other more highly qualified people around that had an interest in the position and weren't chosen.
Like was mentioned already though, it's the players that attend the school that play the game. It's their time and effort they put into their club training that they bring (skill wise) to the school and team, many of which make up two of the best girls teams in the state (OSSA 95 & Copa 97). The incoming freshman girls from the old coaches club team will be trying to fill some pretty BIG shoes already playing there.
Both the Varsity and JV-1 teams will be stocked full of club players.

Well, that didn't work for them too well last year. And that was with a proven coach who tried to quell the dissension. Selfishness is a killer.
