    Tryouts

Qustions you need to ask at tryouts?

What league will you putting the team into. How will this be better than the other guys league who also want my player.

Who is the team coach, why is this person the best coach for my son. Who is the director of coaching, how involved will they be.

Who is over all managing director (Portland Timbers, Crossfire) how are they fullfilling our goals.

Gee, thanks for this. You have solved all of the problems facing parents of HS players who are getting set to tryout. Now, please post a recipe on how to make instant pudding.

      My Guess

My guess is your are one of those parents that just keeps giving youth coaches a few year grand a year hoping your kid plays college soccer at some level, but know they won't because you are not strong enough to ask questions and have expectations of the people you are paying.

How do I know this. I see you on the weekends afraid to move you player to a better situation.

Or, you should just realize that you don't need to tell people the obvious.

Me, I know where we will be playing already. Also know the DOC, very well in fact. I also know why this coach is good for my kid, from experience, and who the club is affiliated with. Lastly, I could move my kid, but it would only go down from the team that they are on now, so I couldn't find a better situation. And college commitment is closing in, no need to hope when it's a given. But thanks for your concern.

Actual Questions the parent might ask at the HS ages

#1 What date and day of the week, most importantly what time and how early do you have to arrive to register.

#2 What time are they over, so I can pick you up. Unless you are driving.

#3 How much does it cost for the entire season--since were not in kiddie soccer anymore and can't choose when and how long we are going to play for the team. Miss those days.

#4 After tryouts have finished, ask child what team they have decided to play for-assuming they get selected.

          Hug child--tell them congrats.

Move forward and stay the fu*K off this cesspool of inhumanity.
