If you are playing teams that are significantly better than you, your team can't actually work on items to make them improve. They will resort to tactics to try and avoid getting blown-out, rather than playing soccer which their technical ability won't allow them to do while playing teams significantly better than them.

If Sunny was really looking after the well-being of this team and it's players, he would have not signed them up for NWCL and given that spot to a more competitive team. He would ensure that they went into another tournament to work on items that they need to work on and develop in areas that will serve the team better than developing their chasing ability. The parents of this team should be angry at Sunny that he is putting them into this situation where they are going to clearly not have a lick of fun.
By the way, this clearly shows that Sunny is also planning on at least trying to keep them in OPL premier. Another disservice to the girls so he can put on his resume that he had two teams in OPL premier, deserving or not.
But, it is hard to make clear and informed decisions after 6 pints at Auto's Pub...

It isn't right to put this team against the teams that they will play to get completely demolished. They won't be able to work on anything; they are going to just hope to keep the score respectible and to do so will have to resort to some form of "send-it soccer".

Let's not count on that being the case this year.
Bring your Starbucks to the games and see what I mean.
