Does anyone know the name of the coach who actually had two of his players kick twice in penalties?

Sounds like a ridiculous excuse for a coach who wants to win at all costs.

Also sounds like a bunch of WT TS parents who are brainwashed into thinking that was a good idea.

Lots of chatter going around about this game and what I heard was that the ref said put your 5 shooters out there. They did and when it was tied, the ref told the coaches to do it again with the same 5. Both coaches questioned him and the ref stated "that's what we are going to do." The one coach did what he was told, even though he knew it was not the way PKs go, and the other coach did as well, but for the 7th shooter he put someone new in. The field marshal was then called and the marshal heard the story, declared the team who reused TWO shooters to be the loser and that was it.

All I know is that both coaches know the rules, but followed the direction of the ref to varying degrees. I also know that neither of my kids teams played in this farce of a tournament and I am very happy we didn't. We saved our money for Beaverton and Nike, which may not be great, but they are much better than this train wreck.

The other coach did the same thing, at least with one shooter. Not sure why you single out one but not the other. And based upon the people who were there it was the ref who instructed them to do it. Sounds like WSA better pay up for more knowledgeable refs rather than grabbing dads from the stands to come out. WSA is at fault here, not the coaches.

I know and WST TS girls knew this was a meaningless game, just a summer touney that WST TS has won last year. It was the poor reaction of the ***C coach questioning Bill Brown's ethics, and his age loud enough for both benches to hear as well as the parent sideline.

And something everyone should keep in mind when making plans for summer tournaments next year. Avoid this one at all costs, although in the HS division, that appears to be the case already.

If you have a copy of the score card or printed report of the game it will show who shot. Until then its all hearsay with both WST TS and ***C having illegal PK shooters.

OK i will rephrased this. 5+ goal differential. I only hope the coach pulled starters or flipped def with off and keeper as FW as someone mentioned earlier. I would be embarrassed as a parent for that 25 goal team.

Agreed. I remember when my WSM daughter's team had to do OYSA CQTs/PQTs in U11 year. Back then the U11s had to play up as U12s so it could be brutal for some teams. Anyhow, the team started scoring right away and the other team was not prepared to play against what would become a top (U11 as U12) team.

The WSM coach did everything possible that he could to keep the score down during the two twenty/twenty-five minute halves (I can't remember which time). He had no choice but to keep playing because the ref said so. First he removed forwards, then he started pulling players out. The ref insisted that he keep at least 8 players in the game. At that point the score was 9-0, with one of the goals being an accidental bounce off of the back of a WSM midfielder's calf. The other team had a couple of own goals and a handball in the box. It was extremely painful to watch and continued to get worse. The WSM told the girls to keep passing the ball around and that no one had better score. One of the WSM defenders accidentally scored an own goal and cried thinking that the coach was going to be mad at her. In the end the score was 12-0.

Our players and theirs were not happy, their coach and parents were extremely angry with our coach for pulling players out of the game. One parent even tried to grab one of our girls. The ref had to be escorted off the field because of the other team's coach and a couple of dads.

The best of this is that WSM was experienced in the qualifying tournament and the other team was not. It was the only team from their club-I believe that they were from southern Oregon somewhere. Their coach was cocky from the get-go and their parents kept ringing a giant cow bell and air horn. It was the ultimate nightmare. We all felt so sorry for those girls. So young to have to go through not only the humiliation of the game, but the behavior of spectators and their coach as well. The ref really erred in this game.

Everyone's crap stinks, but I'm sure *** coaches will lie about that too. Can't believe that you are trying to refute the eyewitness accounts of numerous people. It was a crummy tournament, the officiating was terrible, the handling of this game was atrocious, and now the *** coaches are lying about what happened. Stay away from this tournament in the future. Run, run far away.
