U12 Copa TS played in Cascadia. They won 4 straight games and took the Championship.
The U13 Silver Championship game was Eastside Black vs. VUSA Timbers Green.
After waiting 30 minutes for the referee's who never showed up, an Eastside employee (water vendor) whistled the game...yeah, 1st half 5 fouls called on Green, none on Eastside, lol.
0-0 in the Championship game, settled with penalty kicks with Eastside winning. Their only loss in the tourney was to the Green.
Like the ref, I'm a bit biased since my DD plays on the Green team. They have 13 new kids, practiced 5 times with 2 scrimmages' since try outs. Out of the 5 games they played total in the tournament no one scored on them, except of course the PKs'.
I was very impressed with how well the girls' worked together & the summer looks like lots of fun will occur.
But then again, it was a lousy Timber on Timber tourney against inferior competition, (just trying to fit in around here.) We can all laugh & make fun of the medals/trophies given to these kids but our girls were devastated with several of them crying. Mine broke down instantly after missing her PK.
Once they found out they were getting medals for 2nd, their whole demeanor changed.
