Please read the link before you start jumping to conclusions. All this is talking about is how they are (in their words): have a new integrated and innovative youth development program, which has become the foundation of the state’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the Portland Timbers of MLS' youth academy. The program provides elite youth players advanced training and competitive opportunities throughout Oregon.
All this is talking about is an ODP type thing. It has nothing to do with league play or where the individual clubs will play.

And for more from the article:
The collaborative program between the Timbers and OYSA provides the state with a nationally recognized boy’s and girl's ODP program as well as a top-flight academy system to develop home-grown talent. The new program is designed to coexist with youth clubs and share in player development, allowing players to stay connected to their local clubs.
This has nothing to do with the individual clubs or where they will play. This whole thread was nothing but a way to try and fuel emotions, when really it doesn't change anything.

I'm not sure how you can use the word "collaborative" when you have GW and the Timbers demanding more money from the OPL and youth soccer.

I think there is some misunderstanding on the combination of Portland timbers and the alliance clubs. Outside of some of the ODP/academy type chances, and a few other perks the alliance clubs still run as they did before. The timbers don't come in and tell them where they need to play. So those that keep saying the portland timbers will force there teams to play in the OYSA, they wont. It will be up to the clubs to decide just like before they were alliance clubs. Basically the timbers have a set of standards the club has to meet and thats it.
Honestly for the average coach within the alliance the perks of the alliance really have nothing to do with the timbers. The better perks have come from how the clubs have tried to work more closely together and how they are communicating better together.
