what are they doing if they aren't doing RTC? And where are they hiding? Cause most the top THUSC, FC, Eugene, CFC, Eastside, Westside, Vancouver and BSC kids are did RTC last year. And that doesn't leave a lot of options left for kids to be "the top" kids

You didn't see more than 1 or 2 FC girls there. Club training at FC is far superior to ODP training.

So says a parent whose kid never did ODP. My dd did it from U14-U16 and in those years, she played in some great regional tournament games against some great players. She will always remember the game against NorCal which had the sidelines filled with the players from other ODP teams where the Oregon players were screaming for Oregon and Norcal for Norcal. She now sees many players from ODP going to various colleges and has them on her Instagram feed. Top players were doing it then and should be doing it now. If you are playing ECNL, then I might not do it, but ODP was terrific for her and helped supplement her training. She learned a lot during it and loved playing with players from other teams.

At the older ages it's been dumbed way down and replaced by Thorns Academy. At the younger ages the top clubs provide better training and competitive opportunities than ODP. Waste of money all around.

Sorry she didn't make it. Better luck next year.

Trust me, the only one anyone should be feeling sorry for is the kids that "made" ODP. High cost, pitiful training, waste of time. But if you think one Timbers Alliance coach is any better than the next Timbers Alliance loser than, by all means, enjoy.

ODP has been a great experience. $400 or so and you get lots of extra training with different coaches and different players. Developed a lot of great relationships.

                  On the girls side.

Extra training yes. Good training no. If you're kid is benefitting from ODP training then your club is really letting you down. Might want to look for a new club.

Sorry your daughter didn't make the team. It's good for those of us who did

ODP is a fantastic experience in general. The girls who have done it at older ages are noticeably better.

Only because their club training was so poor.

This was our experience. If you look at the last ten years a huge % of top recruits participated in ODP.
