    Northwest Champions League Teams Posted

    This is simply a list of teams that have qualified. The final list will look much different as several of those clubs will drop out (ie. Seattle U, Eastside FC, etc.)

        Says history. NWCL is not a big deal for RCL clubs and some simply opt out every year to be replaced by weaker teams with $1000 to spare.

            Just save the list that was posted today and then compare it to the list that will be posted in early June. There will be at least 30% change (adds/drops). In some age groups they will add extra teams (up to as many as 18 teams in some age groups last year).

              NWCL benefits Oregon, Idaho and BC teams much more than Washington (Seattle) teams. For Seattle teams, its a step down in competition. It's better to travel to California for a tournament.

                Really? I think this is a very good opportunity for the better teams from around the region to get together. Travel is simple, competition is high and cost is reasonable. Round 1 is late August, Round 2 is mid October and the Championship round is in December. I am not familiar with good tournaments at the younger age level that occur while school is in session. Those happen in the summer. So why not do both?

                  There are some really good tournaments in California during the fall season, with better competition than NWCL. More expensive than NWCL but worth it for the very top teams.

                    I would appreciate a list of the tournaments that provide 6+ games against good teams during this time period. It would take a Surf Cup like experience for me to take my 13 yr old. Please include cost/justification. Not being confrontational just staying level headed.

                      No tournament provides 6+ games. Duh. Are you new here?

                        My problem is who receives the money. Here's a new idea. Have your coach call up the corresponding teams in Washington at a range Simler competition for the price of a reff. These are for profit legs where the proceeds do not help but rather go to an individual. Bad idea and bad precedent. Yet, like lemmings, teams line up to pay the money even when they're not even in the top a
                        4. What a joke.

                          Don't knock it! This is very exciting for the players and it may be the highest level of tournament they ever play in. Stop being so depressive!

                            NWCL:

                            2/3 in Seattle
                            2/3 in PDX
                            playoffs = 5/6

                            Big Time California Event:
                            Tourney is about 5 if you move to the championship game

                            Look right?

                              Plus, you go to a tournament like Surf and don't move on from group it's an awfully expensive 3 games. How many of you have had a team advance to a final like that? Not many. It depends. From a player who has won both "I'd rather win a tournament like NWCL than get blown out at Surf." On a really good team, Surf is better. There aren't that many really good teams in Oregon or Washington.
