and there is a board that does?

At that point, the rec side would merge with either Vancouver West or Pacific SC, if either would take them. Their rec base is not very large, just a few hundred kids.

I've never seen a two year suspension for this....it is common that a one year suspension is given.
I will believe it when see it. All buncg of hot air. If so, I think it would be VT that would offer to pick up the pieces and not Pacific. So the kids would all get into VT anyway.

yes there are....you need to expand your horizons. If you are a part of the FCSC Board you should be seeing the following:

10+ members that show up each time.
          1 meeting per month.

I can only imagine the top minds on the fcsc board.

Vt should be upset about their own coaches. When Salmon Creek hires your coaches, they are hiring them so that the coach's players can go to their club. I feel bad for coaches like Dan Macaya. His alignment with Salmon Creek and sending his players to their club, has to be building bad rapport with the Timbers.

the fcsc board is dictated to by the doc. and there is no plan or vision other than being insolvent within the next year giving the reoccurring operating losses. when that occurs the doc, adoc and their prodigy will skate for greener pastures. its really only been about a paying gig for the adoc and seeing that their prodigy is developed at the expense of everybody and everything else.

Dan at least handled it in a decent way. He let his intentions known from the start and in the end FCSC was what he chose. A lot of people defended Ross (which I dont know the guy so I can't say anything about him personally), but from what I understand he handled it the wrong way. He accepted a spot at VT and accepted a spot at FCSC at the same time.

Is Ross still coaching at both places? I don't understand why either club is okay with that.

For the measly amount of money given to the coaches there is way to much club control. The goal should be to make both players and coaches happy no matter the club. The politics ruin the game.

You timber whiners need to stop. Just because fcsc hired your coaches and now will be getting all of their players just shows that there is something wrong with your organization. If you can't retain your coaches, you won't be able to retain your players. Deal with it and watch our club grow from your inability to run a successful club.

They are letting him finish the year. Then he is going to FCSC.

Part of me wants to agree, however, if you were around 10 plus years ago it was the lack of control over coaches that was ruining the game. At its worst clubs were going after coaches, but behind closed doors and some of those coaches were leaving a week before tryouts and taking their whole team or a good portion with them. It was getting ugly with how much stuff was going on behind the doors. Now coaches sign a contract before the season and are asked to follow that contract. It doesn't say you can't leave after the year but there are restrictions that apply, and EVERY coach signs those contracts, so EVERY coach agrees to those. So to be upset after when a club enforces those terms I think is just pathatic. You know what you signed and what is expected, so just follow it. If you don't like it you don't have to coach.

Actually as recent as May 2010 and the day before tryouts a nameless FCSC coach informed the doc, board and his team's parents that he was leaving to coach for the VT and his team was going with him. And the result was a "big nope" with the VT doc being sanctioned, fined and put on probation by WYS for one year.

Even more recently in March 2012, the infamous Vic 'biter' Garcette/Usher informed the FCSC doc and board he was leaving to coach his then GU-13 at WSA. WYS again got involved and reinforced its rule about not being able to leave and coach a former team for 1 year at a different club.

These are Washington state youth soccer rules and aren't necessarily in coaching contracts although they probably well should be. What seems more damaging to the beautiful game locally now is that there is too much control by self serving 'docs' without stronger accountability by the club boards.

The rules are not enforced unless the clubs bring it up to the STATE.
