OPL to Sanction FCSC and Pacific FC for Guest Player Use Abuses

OMG. Tryouts are in a few weeks. Just move to another club or team if you dont like it where your at.

This to me is the work of a selfish parent whos kid was easily benched on a sub par team, at a sub par club and probably worshiped every minute they did play in a game. Now that there are only days left in the season they fire up the grinder hoping to get the last word in before they depart. If your kid was any better it never would have happened in the first place.

FCSC and Pacific both suck. They are planning on combing next year and only leave one other club option in Clark County for kids to play. It's only work of 4 people (2 Pacific, one who is on board and daughter wants to play badly for TE) other is FCSC . They are both not in it for the kids. Its the leadership at both clubs that are the selfish ones not the poor kid sitting on the bench waiting to be play.

If it's a Pacific parent-coach who wants his daughter to play for Tina, then send her over to Salmon Creek. Don't bring FCSC to Pacific. Terrible excuse for a merger of clubs.

Pacific and salmon creek are not merging. There are no plans to and the pacific board is not interested in working together. The 99 age group was a brief idea that was scrapped almost immediately.

From what I hear, yes. Pacific didnt like salmon creeks's cost structure. Pacific is cheap. Parents only pay $300-$400 for league and tournaments, not fcsc's $1200-$1400.

Also, pacific didn't like having to pay for a doc that is untrustworthy and is difficult to work with.

True. And as a U10 is your child has aspirations to play at a higher lever they still pick a Reds team from those Timbers Academy teams to do high level tournaments and State Cup. So if you make the reds the costs go up, but for the serious soccer player it's nice to have the option. You can always turn down the Red slot and keep training with your team... And cheaper than $550. Plus these players are being noticed for other opportunities like RTC, etc.

Pacific is only a better option if you live in battleground area and your child does not have aspirations to be a Premier soccer player.

Pacific includes all costs, that $550.00 includes all tournaments and the uniform kit. Not sure what Timbers are including in their cost. Here is the Tier 3, which would be comparable to Pacific. Kind of vague on what is included and how many tournaments. And no kid from a Timbers Tier 3 is making RTC. Get on the Red team or forget it.

 Teams will participate in the OPL in competitive appropriate divisions (RCL for BU15-BU18)
 Training 2 times a week
 Local tournaments, maybe one out of area tournament
 Qualified licensed coaches
 State Cup

Just slap the "for development purposes" label on it & not do it against LO and you can do whatever.

Last year U10 players paid signifantly less than $550 as part of the Youth Academy. Very simple, no one is comparing apples to apples here. Pacific's academy is listed at $55, Timbers at $350, not sure if FCSC has one or what their cost is. You can compare the clubs I guess in other area's but you cannot compare prices, VUSA has 4 paid directors and all members will share in those cost's as well as paid coaches. That has it's advantages and disavantages, one being you have to pay them.
Pacific has zero paid positions and the $550 is the "actual" cost per player of playing a full year of soccer all inclusive. So when comparing prices it is actually impossible to be cheaper than Pacific, best any club could do would be the same uless someone else is paying the bills.
Don't have kids playing anymore but from my experience, coaches are what make the difference anyway, if you have a coach that is qualified, caring, and understanding, really gets players and parents then you will see strong loyal teams and players that are still around at U14. Coaches should know when they have taken a player as far as they can and should be willing to send them on their way. Parents just need to do their research I would not hesitate to take my kid to any of the Vancouver or Portland clubs if the coaching was a good fit, they all have good coaches and shall we say less than good coaches.

WT academy is $350.00 and does not include uniforms. And additional tournaments are more and if you make the all-star team, there are some more costs there. So one team puts all the costs up front. The other team puts the minimal costs.
So not apples to apples. I do believe the WT is a good price overall for premier though. Much better than FCSC.

Sorry, I stopped reading when you said 'Pacific's academy is listed at $55'. That is the funniest thing I ever heard. Pacific's academy is probably slightly lower technically then what my child received from his Parks and Rec coach at age 7.

1st year academy with "Baseball dads" coaching will not produce a good soccer product. Yes, Pacific might find a few really good athletes that will compete but they will not be better soccer players at the end of the year.
