I’m looking for a private trainer over the winter for my 2012G. Who is good, bad? Looking for someone who is good at keeping the sessions interesting and can connect with a younger player who wants to grow and also have fun.

Our daughter is part of a group of older girls that has been training with Hugo Rhoads at Rain Soccer Training (look up the company on social media) for a couple of years. He’s great, ask for a trial session.

His sessions are productive and positive. He does small groups, seems like 4 to 8 kids these days. The groups are typically kids of similar skill sets and not necessarily the same age. He knows my kid well now he not only provides training exercises but every now and then we will send him video and he will tailor aspects of training based on what he sees. Also, I appreciate that because he does not coach at a particular club he has given trustworthy feedback about options for her over the past few years.
Locations tend to be mainly Grant High School right now, but we have also trained at other spots, like the Ida B. Wells and Rieke Elementary turf fields.

Hugo works better for us right now for a few reasons. I like the ease of communication and getting a session with Hugo. With Joachim it was a bit more difficult to get a session with him, but things might have changed. Also, Joaquim has a few things going on and I am not sure the extent of his availability.
Also, while I like Joachim's training and give that a thumbs up, this is not an endorsement of ADF, his club. I would give the edge to Hugo of the two.

Hope this doesn't spoil it, but this has been an informative thread with helpful comments and no vitriol/commentary from the Oregon soccer is trash crowd. Great to see!

You could try MK Elite. But I've heard from a couple of people that he isn't great at responding or communicating. There's a wide range of highly skilled players working with him though.
