Oregon State women’s soccer coach Lauren Sinacola resigns

After only 3 years???? Didn't Kagan last only three years before he abruptly resigned? What the heck is going on at Oregon State? I feel bad for those 2024 commits.

Man that definitely is the worst time to lose a coach as a new recruit. Then again that team didn't have a lot of player movement so most of the roster will be back. Hopefully that keeps them steady because the WCC conference, much like the Pac 12, is super competitive.

They better get a coach real fast because they have 8 weeks before they restart the season and maybe 12 weeks before conference play. Brutal.

Something is going on in the entire region. Almost half of the UP and Oregon women's teams players transferred. OSU coach and UP's lead assistant Logan both walk away. Reports from Eugene that players are being treated poorly. Not sure what's up.

Is it true the verbal commits could be let go by the new coach? They don't have to honor?

Nothing binding under a verbal commitment, so it works both ways.

Nothing binding at all any more, really. Player doesn't like coach? Transfer portal. Coach cuts player? Same.

(Often times, a player will be told they are going to be cut, and allowed to enter the portal to save face).

Yes indeed, actual players historically boycott playing for the Beavs.

And that is why women's college athletics is a joke. Spoiled little ECNL girls not getting their way.

I am guessing terrible players and terrible coach. It they just would have accepted these facts the school wouldn't have cared and they are could have continued loosing and going to school. The school has to be more concerned with Football and basketball. I think this year they will receive big Pac12 money from last year proceeds, but not being part of a power 5 conference, athletics could implode.

And they did it with one player from Oregon who did not play a single a minute. Go OREGON !
