    New opl requirements

I keep hearing that a concerted effort in consolidating talent that the OPL is/has adopted new guidelines for Clubs and Individual teams that play in the OPL. The new guidelines will eliminate the "stand alone" or "independent" teams from the OPL. I'm interested to see if anyone else has heard this and can confirm this....

    This would effect clubs like:

    United SA
    TFA Barcelona
    FCSC Salmon Creek
    Pacific FC

Basically clubs that call themselves Premier but really are not. Most of the smaller clubs will have one or maybe two decent teams but it drops off from there.

As long as there is actually a "club" with the required structure it doesn't matter how many teams the club has. What is no longer allowed are independent teams that don't belong to a club.

So the only option to an independant would be to play OYSA (who at this point will take anyone with a pulse.)

My one concern on this, is if it is being done for a legitimate reason (one that actually benefits the players) or is it being done as a way to force this teams to join an OPC club?

If it is being done to force them to join the larger clubs, that the OPC leaders are violating the trust of their member organizations.
