yeah I'm thinking the 08 semis would be WSM-UPX and CFC-ADF most likely...really intriguing matchups and tests for the kids. will be fun to watch.

seeing FC squeeze through on goal differential is crazy. I’d expect them to put up a good fight against ADF.

Well, they were (and are) a B team.... but yeah, they came close to falling apart last year, and lost a lot of players to FC. But can't argue with the results this year.
These types of outcomes where weaker teams like copa white, FC Portland and even Eugene advance out of pool play, are merely the byproduct of poor planning by the oysa, in making groups of 3 in the state cup when groups of 4 were possible.
These 3 teams advancing (fc pdx, Eugene, copa white) are the same as they've ever been, or even worse than prior.years.
2 of them copa white and Eugene were the cellar dwellers of premier gold this winter.
Whilsr FC pdx was a tough out in Premier Silver.
If the truth be told United PDX blue is stronger than all 3 of these teams advancing to qf's in state cup, they (updx blue) entered the President's cup instead.
It all came down to 1 game in pool play, out of a whopping 2 played. .
Where they held on for a tie or got an upset over a very average team, for example their result(s) vs pcu, msc and opfc sent them to qf's.
If any of these 3 teams; copa white, fc pdx or eugene advance to semis, it will be time to sing a praise for sure.
Nothing here yet.

If any team deserves to be butthurt, its OPFC who got bushwhacked in Eugene yesterday, and are now going home. Perhaps they, EMFC, and ADF was a "group of death", and are justified in whining that Group B (Capitol, Copa White, and McMinnville) was a "group of life" that allowed Westside's B team to advance. The prior two seasons, Copa White had been always placed with Capitol and ADF, with predictable results.
But still--OPFC should have beaten Eugene, and it's their own fault they will get an early start to next season.
And UPDX Blue playing in Prez Cup is first-rate smurfing if I ever saw it.

My prediction for the 09’s is westside vs opfc and United vs Eugene in semis, westside vs United in finals with westside winning it

road trip to eugene always has element of Animal House. Bummer for upstart wannabe opfc..
updx blue smacked quarterfinalst fc pdx 2-0 with little effort required in winter league.
