2010 Columbia Premier and United PDX

We are moving to Portland from SoCal. My son currently plays for an MLS Next team.

We are done with the MLS commitment. Looking for the best teams in PDX. ECNL would be the natural next step but we are open.

It seems that all roads for 2010 boys lead to Columbia Premier and United PDX?

Get ready for a toxic and unfortunate debate. From a just-the-facts standpoint, Columbia Premier and United PDX are the only two clubs that compete in ECNL at that level. So, they are very much worth considering. Oregon Premier FC (OPFC) is another club that you'll hear arguments about (good and bad, no doubt). I'd say OPFC, and perhaps FC Portland, is worth at least a look.

Saints 2010, OPFC, and Eastside Timbers 2010s are all good. FC Portland 2010s….not so much.

OP no doubt knows how to find ECNL standings, etc. Here's the link to the OYSA standings and schedules for the current Spring League: https://oysa.affinitysoccer.com/tour...F-7B9857BE66E9

First of all, welcome to Portland. There are many great programs (already mentioned) here locally at the 2010 age group.

If you are looking for the highest level of competition and the most competitive team at that level then Columbia is the hands down favorite followed by United just because of their ECNL status.

If you want a great experience and are ok just playing locally, the OYSA teams can provide you with that.

It’s going to be difficult to try out for any of these teams as they all schedule their tryouts on the same dates.

The best 2010 boys team is probably the 2010 Thorns Academy

UPDX has had the most success in ECNL for any portland based team.

They are undefeated in the Girls ECNL (since they have never played played in the actual ECNL)

the boys teams today are fodder for the wa. Clubs. Which is a success for Portland based teams, considering Portlamd area boys teams use to dismantle all wa teams.

Updx is indeed the present and future.

Since they will never match the winning ways of the past Portland area teams..You have a point.

They are the only boys ecnl team based in PDX so your statement isn’t wrong but it’s most certainly not genuine.

They get slaughtered by the real Washington clubs and don’t even perform well against the lowly oysa teams in the state cups here.

Although United PDX (ECNL) is the best Portland based team, if you come across the river Columbia Premier (another ECNL team) is the best in the metro area at the U14 level.

United PDX is a joke. Stay as far away from them as you can. It’s the McDonald’s of soccer clubs.

There 2010 boys ECNL team has the worst coaching and all of the leadership at the top have no business doing anything other than coaching rec games.

keep your kids away from this club.

Welcome to what everyone already knows.

I do feel bad for the kids at United PDX. They deserve better.

Contact both clubs. If you are moving/visiting before tryouts, ask if you can attend a practice or two. Meet the coach and the kids and see if either feel like a good fit. Both teams will be changing drastically this next year with many kids moving on to MLS next. This year's results don't mean a thing for next season.
