The Timbers/Thorns alliance imploded and the Thorns coaching staff is a joke. The money is day to day and no reserves. It’s not what you think it is. House of cards
I'm not sure what the Timbers/ Thorns alliance has to do with anything because it wasn't part of the Academy and the Academy wasn't a part of the alliance. It's good to know that you have their bank statements all figured out though.

where? If you think they are going to let the academy teams train at the pro facility you are foolish. Do you know the hoops they will have to go through to build a soccer complex anywhere near the metro area? THPRD has it locked down on the west side and good luck in Multnomah County. So much red tape it would take 10 years to be approved
The team was able to play at Providence due to the fact that the city manages owns it and Peregrine manages it. Paulson has 2 daughters in the club and was tired of the team practicing at powerlines park. This is a fact that I know.
They never once stepped foot on the Timbers training facility in Beaverton. And they won’t use any pro training facility for the Thorns either.
Besides that this training facility that may or may not be built for Thorns will take years to construct, so anyone on here with kids older than 13 will likely never get a chance to step foot on the fields anyway.
by the way, this is the Thorns Academy M.O. for years, keep selling the dream of connection to the Pro team. It’s a marketing gimmick and has no basis in reality. Other than occasional game tickets and meet and greets, there is no real connection. Be honest. Those of us who are with the club no this. Stop spreading BS about it. It’s just a youth club, period. Not a pathway, not a pro academy, just a club.
T2 and MLS Next are Pro Academies, NWSL no longer have them (academies).

Question asked by concerned parent at all club meeting about coaches coaching their own kid was answered "It's never been a problem for us before." I haven't been in OR soccer very long but I’ve never heard a more shockingly disrespectful response. We haven't heard from anyone in Surf nationals itself and we are surprised they would stand for this or the nepotism that we continue to hear will be increasing. They are being clear in everything they are doing imo, that integrity and player safety are not valued at Surf OR.

Surf tag on to failing clubs. That's the MO of the business model.
Shouldn't a group have a leg to stand on before they are arrogant enough to assume new people will want to get on their big blue Smurf bus? .24 overall win ratio in ECNL (it's actually blue because it's flat-lining) and, to the point above, no morals, integrity or plan except an arrogant plan to allow nepotism amongst board members and coaches and to help parents buy new blue Smurf kits quickly. Heck, whatever turns blue into "green" for the club as quickly as possible. I bet fees are going up so they can buy a big blue plan from headquarters to help them learn how to drive the big blue bus that they don't know how to drive already.

NWE tried to convince me to send my kid to their club and told me not to go to Thorns because this coach was verbally abusive and just a horrible coach and person. Now they are welcoming him with open arms?! I’m going to avoid both clubs.
