ODP- is it still happening this year?

Many OR state semifinalists have been invited, across all age groups and genders most turned it down. As the event has been rejected by so many usys champions in OR and region iv. Simply a Nonsensical location choice and astronomical cost for this low youth level of play.

Not sure where you get your info from but what I have heard, all highschool age state champions In OR have committed. That’s 3 UNITED PDX ECNL teams and an OP team. And I saw at least the 2007 runner up from our club fundraising for the trip too.

Invitations for literally every age group and gender were still being sent as late as last week, most in vain in the regions last ditch effort to fill the voids evident in brackets.
Begging bottom level teams from the USYS NW & Desert conferences, e64 also rans and reaching down into the states pools of SC Semifinalists.

Seems like quite a few I know are going though. . I guess we will see what’s truthful and what’s a lie on here when they publish the schedule .

Is it "really sad" to not spend $3k per kid for a sh*tty soccer tournament?

I think it's refreshing. There are many better tournaments with lower costs. Cheers to the parents that finally said "No" to their coaches.

Yes. The main takeaway is that they feel strongly that next year the program will suck even more than it did this year.

And they are actively seeking coaches by trolling the streets of Portland in an attempt to help the homeless by offering them a position as coach and chaperones.
