Having a plan is one thing. Having a good and proven plan is another. Most importantly, having the ability to execute the plan is critical. FC Portland has a keyboard warrior that cant type and rant for days overseeing the program. Their program has fallen apart. It has not kept up. It is not moving forward. Current success of the older age groups is a reflection of past leadership.

SCA is a great place for development and can help players grow. The cost is pretty spendy but 3 days of training.

PCU is the best club in Portland, to be a DOC and make a quarter of million dollars a year.

Great for development? How many players has SCA actually internally developed and not poached from elsewhere? Good luck finding game experience when OYSA won’t let you back in. I am sure 3 practices and no game is much better than 2 practices and a game.

They’ve poached no one. They’ve only been around about 5 years, they’re developing kids there. In fact kids come back to SCA when they find there isn’t development elsewhere. They’re not going anywhere in oysa.

They train at a high level and focus on individual development. It's obvious on the field. Serious soccer families notice. Some may switch clubs. They are total poachers.

SCA cares so much about player development that they will swap half a team roster just for State Cup. Great development for those players who they don't trust to compete in cup games, only league games.

SCA still has not been accepted into OYSA for 2024/2025 as they have not cleared the non-profit status hurdle nor have they found a sponsor/affiliate club to allow for exemption. The A team players should all be fine with DPL/GA/ECNL/whatever but the B team and PDP players will be searching (begging) for friendlies every weekend.

More like the entire playing roster with 2-4 B team bench players who play the last few minutes of a game.
