And how does his team going to suddenly improve from 26th in WA state rankings to the "team to beat" at tryouts?

P.S. I must admit that I was impressed with that 16-0 drubbing they laid on that U10 rec team in spring league though. Nice sportsmanship there...
The difference was the goalie. Reds mastered physical play and looooong ball.

    Whites played better soccer.

You fcsc idiots need to realize that no one gives a shiz if you win state cup at u11 when your kid gets replaced at u14 because your coach is a moron who hasn't coached or developed players.

        Enjoying this.
You sound like someone who is trying to rationalize the poor showing in state cup. If the goal is not to be competitive at state cup then why play at premiere level, paying premiere level fees? Speaking of hearing things, rumor is Studley did not travel/coach his U-11 G team for their last state cup game (their zero wins in pool play eliminated them) in Tri-Cities.

Funny thing is that Tri-cities game was their only win, and was coached by the team manager/mom. Also heard Studley coached and will continue to coach more than one team. I wonder how much commitment he can provide to each of his Premiere level teams? No worries I guess, the team mom could always fill in.

          Are you related to him?

You are either related to him or failed to comprehend what I wrote. I clearly stated that his SON was also on the team. So either English is your second language or you rode the little bus. Let me put it clearly for you. This was a U14 Boys team.

The point, that was lost on you, is that it wasn't Tyger. He coached GU11. Sad that your kid played on a team for a year and you don't even know the coaches name!

They had an awful coach who was a laughing stock of OPL with a few baddie parents.

Didn't offer the coach a team and he left taking a few kids with him to Hillsboro......

that about sums it up with his ability to do right by the kids....

What's funny is the poster complaining about losing a year of development while playing on a "C" team at a Mickey Mouse club at U14 no less. By that age, the "C" team is no longer about development, it's glorified rec...

Word is that his 97s don't exactly seem to be thrilled with him and his lack of coaching this past season.

                          Hilarious!
Your Westside Timbers rumor mill is wrong. Studley has done a hell of a job with the '97's and we are happy to have him back

Interesting complaint, "Do right by THE kids". I suspect you truly meant "do right by MY Kid", so you could dispense with the false pretense.

I've had children competing at premiere/competitive level soccer and other sports for well over a decade now and when someone has such strong feelings about a coach it invariably boils down to a parent feeling their kid didn't get enough playing time or wasn't allowed to play a certain position.

From what I've seen there was no mass exodus from the teams he coached or no concerted and vocal outcry to remove him. To my knowledge, I've never seen or heard of any complaints about abusive or demeaning behavior toward his players.

His team's had a winning record, won several prestigious tournaments and represented the Timbers well as their "Red" team at state cup. So what's left? Someone obviously feeling slighted along the way because the coach "didn't do right by MY Kid".

We've had a very simple approach to our kids. Their playing time is strictly earned by them and only them. In all the years of youth sports, we've never talked with ANY coach about playing time or positions or other on field matters.

Every year, however, these is always at least one, especially it seems, in soccer. Of course it's not limited to soccer. A head coach in another sport at the high school age level recently lamented that despite having a successful and winning season, he was still harangued about playing time.

People, do right by YOUR kids. Show them that they have to compete and earn things along the way and that mommy or daddy will not always be there to interject on their behalf. They'll be better off in the long run.

Stop whining. Don't be "that" parent.
