    Timbers

There has to be something to say about the Timbers that is more interesting than all the parents bickering about girls soccer, club conspiracies, money grubbing DOCs and untimely schedules: not to mention whatever it is that goes on in Vancouver.

I'll start. The Timbers won last night. The new guy apparently did well.

Tying the topic back to this board, I suspect they're better than all the ENCL teams but not quite up to level of Onyx.

Love how you complain about what goes on here but then you add to it.

The comment is right, and seems like an effort to start something new rather than a complaint. It's more of a comment poking a little fun at the whole ENCL thing. Are you a little defensive?

Pre season, who cares. Do you think GW got smart over the off season? Any progress will be due to Caleb. I can't wait to see the opener... Kenny Cooper returns!

Why do the Timbers insist on running things like a youth soccer money grab. $125 to try out for the U23s? Perhaps if they could give an explanation for for why they've already picked they guys they did. Otherwise it just looks cheap. C'mon. You're in the big leaguers now, act like it.

Watched about 15 minutes of the streaming video at lunch. Timbers beat Seattle today 1-0 in preseason friendly. Sure it's preseason but it's still Seattle.

Academy team had seven sign NLIs. Congrats to them. Players and schools are posted on the Timbers website.

Unfortunately, Kenny won't be returning with NY-he got traded to Dallas. Wondering if Henri didn't like the scoring competition.

Yeah, like Messi doesn't like Iniesta or Xavi. Not putting him in this category but I would disagree. The better forwards he plays with forces defenses to account for them more and less on him. Cooper will flame this year because he will have more emphasis for the opposing defense.

                            DA Playing Time

Look at the DA 15/16 playing time stats there are some cats that need to see the field to get to the required 25% starts.

Must be hard on the coach with the required playing time.

Not if the coach is trying to develop players as opposed to winning games. If they've put in the time and demonstrated a proper attitude in training then they should play.
