    My fully uninformed opinion.

    U15 Crossfire vs SS Shadow
    U16 Crossfire vs Vancouver Timbers
    U17 Crossfire vs Washington Premier
    U18 Crossfire vs OSSA Blue

You must be new to this. Before they had ECNL a year ago, it was still Crossfire winning most of the games.

Yea, was reading through the other post and they say that Oregon is just as competive as Washington and was just surprised to see the scores and Washington cleaning house. I just guess that this kinda settles any kind of disputes. Younger ages looks like they can compete but when you get in to the high school ages, goodnight.

Younger ages can compete? U11 through U13 boys and girls: Washington had 8 NWCL finalists. Oregon had 1.

My theory on the older age groups is that they can still compete if the talent would consolidate a little more. That probably won't ever happen.

So why, at least in the gu15 age group, is NWCL set up so that 2 WA teams & 2 OR teams go to semis, regardless of wins/losses? Looks like FC Portland may go through with a possible (and likely) 3 losses and a tie. And Thusc may go through with 1 win, 3 losses. VT will not go through with a possible 3wins, 1 loss, and WPFC most likely won't go through with 3 wins, 1 tie. Makes absolutely no sense. But this happens every year. When will NWCL get it right?

Isnt it supposed to be a "Champions League" where just the top cream rises ??

Agreed that it does not allow teams with the best record to move forward into the semis, however it should still allow the best two in the finals assuming they don't get knocked out by a team with a lesser record.

They had a good idea when they were making the league, but there are things they don't want to address I suppose. Ours is a premier team from a premier club and the coach doesn't want the team involved in the league anymore. The coach says why drive to Seattle to play the teams in our own league?

Ive always thought it a bit odd when a vancouver team travels to seattle to play a portland team.

I think it works fine. If they did it the other way then you would be back to the same few teams playing each other....yawn.

If this were truly a NWCL. It would predominately be WA top 6 and Oregon would send 1-2 teams and Idaho wouldn't even go.

It would end up being WA teams playing eachother with Oregon usually rounding out the bottom 2-3. There are WA teams who didn't attend this year for that reason.

So instead. Greg decides he needs to make more money so he invites more teams so the structure is unable to accommodate groups of 7 so everyone is able to play eachother and find out who the real champion is.

Now you get some garbage OR teams who can't even put together two wins getting into a semi final while WA teams going undefeated are out because of G/D.

Pretty stupid if you ask me.

If I'm an OR parent: I'm feeling good about it...besides getting tossed up in a semi final.

and frankly, more then 2 weekends are really necessary as well. teams have an off weekend (missing players, injuries, etc.), then have just 1 other weekend to make it all up.

There is not one instance of a team winning all of their games and not moving forward into a semifinal. There are instances where teams winning fewer games move forward while those winning more do not. Even so, the two best teams still have an excellent chance of meeting up in the finals so long as they do not have a bad day.

BTW: In some cases it is the Wa team that has more wins and gets knocked out and in other cases it is the Or team.
