Sometimes they try new things. It may or may not have anything to do with the performance of the athlete. Also, they sometimes offer a spot to individuals that are declined for various reasons. I would not read bad performance into it.

Same thing happened on the boys side, the tourney all-star team did not represent the actual regional team players and sometimes national pool/camp players. There are players that made the all-star tourney team that aren't even top players for our state. You will see this happen a lot. Not uncommon.
This is one of the largest pools of talent from the girls in OR in a long time. The guys side is familiar with all of this. So, I would assume that these sort of details are new to most of you reading on this thread.

they may have looked good at one point, but when placed with the collective group, theyre at the bottom. not saying this is the case, but just a possibility.

Many of your past National team representatives weren't recognized at the ODP tournaments. They usually use these tournaments to find other talent that has not been picked already.
Don't read into it too much. Just ask your DOC or ODP coach

The 97 girls who went are all from the second pool at holdover camp. My dd went to Phoenix and was told the 18 97's were from the 2nd team at holdover camp. If you look at the Region IV ODP team, none went from the actual team to this. This was what the 2nd team did instead. All the South Cal girls, and others, who made the actual Region IV team got to go to Florida. The exception was JJ, the goalie, she had a conflict with Florida so she went to AZ instead.
Still a good opportunity, but my dd missed getting to compare herself against the top 18, namely a few So Cal girls she was looking forward to seeing there. I heard it was this same way for the 98 girls, and two from the actual Region IV team went, corinne being one, because two second team girls could not attend, one has a new ACL tear.
The youngers though, 99 and under, were and are the true first teamers since they never got to attend FL.
