I don't know why some parents think it is all that different from ODP or even a team like ... Onyx. You pay for travel and yes that is expensive. It is expensive to enter tournaments all the time with any team. It would be ideal to get to also train with the team but absent that availability some are looking outside the box. You can play with your local club team and also play discovery for another team.... could be Washington, Colorado.... where ever it works out. There is also an option to train with FC Portland (yes you do pay fees for the training) and then you play with an ECNL team. Out of region play is not something I would recommend for those who are not clearly starters for whatever team they play for but it is something that the boys side has done for awhile. We have known young men who travel even to practice to get a higher level of play.

2. If you are stupid and crazy enough. By all means, why not go play ECNL Alabama.
3. Westside Timbers, Onyx, Sherwood, FCSC is all reality is better competition that that stupid ECNL league WPFC and Crossfire are in for GU-14.
WPFC loses to FCSC, Onyx and Westside on any given day. Crossfire loses to Onyx and Westside if not FCSC, they aren't that good. What is interesting is that Crossfire is one of the top teams in their league.
Other age groups would be an idea as alot of the OPL age groups are diluted.
GU-14 ECNL is only for idiots and crazy parents who can't make it down here.

Discovery is just another way of saying GUEST player. Dumb marketing tactic.
Each ECNL team can only have 2 GUEST players.
And usually that is from outside of the seattle area and NOT from Portland.
Just understand these teams take ANYONE and they fill a roster of 25 so they can pay for the team. Unless you are a starter or a starter including +2 guest players, have fun treking up there and back 4x a week to sit the bench.

There are several girls at all ages from Portland/Vancouver playing on all age groups for WPFC and Crossfire ECNL. I am still trying to figure out why you are so bitter about who is playing where and what concern is it of yours? The only conclusion that anyone could come to is that you must be a little jealous. Lets take the u14's as that is who you are referring. As for the WPFC losing to FCSC wrong WPFC team, The ECNL team beat FCSC they lost to Onxy and WST, but you need to remember that they also played 4 games that weakend down 2 of their better players and no head coach for a couple of the games. They are building a team and adding quality players through discovery and recruiting and will have a contender in the future. Crossfire has added several quality players in the last year like 6-8 of them and will be a very tough team now and in the future. u14 is the first year of ECNL and it is a building year to make a team for the years to come. u15-u18 are the years that it really count. these teams will continue to add players and players will leave as with any team but the quality of the players that are going to these teams will show maybe not this year but watch them from the u15 age on. Take note of the NWCL u15 through u18 all won by ECNL teams. Mark my words there will be other players from this market that will go to be a part of this and play the best teams from around the country on a regular basis. Lets go on to the schedule and league. While yes there is some weaker teams in the division unless you are Onyx you will not even be able to compete, WST could hang in there on a good day. Is De Anza Force ECNL not in the division? Are they not the #1 ranked U14 team in the country? Both Seattle ECNL clubs play them twice before May. Who is your club playing? and Mustang FC ECNL they are another top notch team being played twice before May. When are you guys playing them? Then lets look at the events lets see West Coast FC, Slammers FC, Strikers FC and Arsenal FC what do you know both clubs playing them in April. Once again whats your schedule? This is only a small view of the games that will be played by these teams. There schedules are online feel free to review them. I can tell you that Onyx and WST and anyone of any calibur would love to have the schedule and games that these teams have. Thats right they offer it through ECNL. Onyx has lost to both West Coast and De Anza in a couple of hard fought games and would love the chance to play them again. As for the post of the clubs will take anyone your wrong again. Yes while they do roster 20-25 players they only travel with 16-18, no more than any club team would have going to a tournament. I can tell you of the players that are from down here they are all travel squad players and they play a lot and are not sitting on the bench. I can also tell you of the three u14 players from Portland/Vancouver on the WPFC and Crossfire noone of them are going to seattle every week, not even once in two weeks. These players all have club teams that they play and train with. I hope this clears up some of the bad information that you have recieved and feel free to ask questions if you like so that you can get the correct information instead of just putting out random crap. Have a nice day!

Non-ECNL WA clubs had 1 champion and 2 runner-ups.
BC clubs had 1 champion and 1 runner-up.
Oregon clubs had 1 champion and 1 runner-up.
Idaho clubs had 0 champions and 0 runner-ups.
Clearly, across all age groups, the ECNL clubs are by far the strongest (which, of course, is how a club gets to be in the ECNL in the first place).
The ECNL dominance is most pronounced at the oldest age groups. Both finalists in the U17 and U18 age groups were the two ECNL teams.

The U14 CHILD that you continually attack on this forum actually played for the Crossfire U17 team with 5 other youngers in the NWCL, played half of each game and beat Sodium and OSSA. Hmmm. That is weird. I suspect that Onyx also beats Sodium on a regular basis. You have some sort of horrible malignant thoughts towards other children that truly is not healthy. You need help. This is not causing you any problem at all .... or is it??? If you are wanting your DD to play ECNL you should look into the Discovery slots with WPFC or Crossfire. If you truly do not care about ECNL then you should let the malice go. It is unbecoming and kind of creepy.
Why don't you have her play college girls already.
U17 team carrying a few play ups to beat a garbage opl team... Woooooo. You're even more stupid to think that the coach was doing that for development purposes rather just filling spots. Think about it. When the u14 age group provides Better competition than the u17s that crossfire avoided because they won't win....it's not that the u14s are just that good... It's that they are that bad and they have a few parents that think their kid is top rate because they are filling spots on an older team. When you say the better team doesn't win? So interesting how crossfire never beats onyx. Man that just sounds like bad luck right?

Come pay and sit the bench for our u14 ecnl team but we ll have you guest a few games with our u17s ok?
Actually we ll have you start playing with our BOY u21s. YOU ARE that GOOD.
The Oregon teams at that age were always very poor. Not exactly the best accomplishment when onyx or anyone age below would beat them straight up.

If they needed a center mid or forward, that kid would Not be used.
Think about it.
Why inflate your ego when your kid can't even play with skill on her own level let alone on an older level....
Because they need your money.

The idiot parents say discovery but they are just doing the same idiot thing of driving back and forth saying its the nw best kept secret.
It's not that these kids are better than the best from wa who don't do it. Their parents are that much more gullible and stupid.

Man we can't get these great players to leave Eastside of wa......
Dont worry, I bet I can get some crazy parents to drive their kids here from pdx sw wa.....
Can find any on the u14 age group....
Don't worry we ll just go down an age and see if any will play up. I know there is at least a few crazies there.
They aren't that good and will sit the bench..
Its ok we ll just take their money and give them some guest playing opportunities with older teams on non important game who we don't want to risk injuring our players
I don't think there is anyone that crazy.......
Just you wait.

BTW there are at least 8 other OR & SW WA girls on ECNL teams up North. If you can think about it for just a few seconds before replying you have to realize that not only are the ECNL teams in the sound the better players from their clubs they also like THUSC get the better players from the region for the very reasons discussed in this thread so if our girls make those teams and play a lot, like the really do, you cannot say they are wasting their time or money.
