The 96 girls lost in semi finals 0-1 to south cal. Though it was a loss I think all the girls felt they had won. This was a group that had only 2 long time returning players. Many of the team had never played ODP. They were wonderful to watch. There was over fourty colleges that came to watch. Hope that they all have the opportunity to play in the future.

Congrats girls! Those CalSouth teams are tough and to come that close is a great accomplishment.

A lot of the 97 and 98B quit ODP, not sure why?

Because Odp is not what is was. It is watered down with all the Pre-academy/Academy teams taking over. The talent pool in Vegas was unimpressive. Mediocre at best.

The 98 girls lost in double OT to Washington in the semi's. SoCal beat Washington 2-0 in the finals.

97 and 98 Boys are doing worse this year than last. I thought they would be more competitive. Anyone have a clue? They are too young for academy, so that's not it. Maybe the Timbers should focus on the girls side and getting home grown talent into the Thorns!

97 and 98 boys are doing just fine, they aren't going to win it but they are winning and losing and when they lose, losing close. I'm pulling for the girls too but no need to slam the boys in the process. In any case, the Timbers will always care more about the home grown grown boys than girls. It's about money and the money will always come from the men's side. That said, I will do my part and try to get to a Thorns game. Happy to get Alex Morgan, Tobin Heath, and even Sinclair.
