A group of grown men posting on a forum, projecting their hatred of United PDX's dominance of the market by discussing how a youth soccer logo of a bird reminds them of the Nazis. Simply incredible. We're so lucky to have such an amazing soccer community in this state.

Dominance ? You all played your ecnl teams and only won one state cup on the boys side. None of those ecnl teams made the ecnl playoffs and all were in mid or lower in that league.

The word dominance is not what you think it is.

United PDX dad of an ECNL boy's player here - we do NOT dominate the market, least of all in ECNL. The club is growing too fast and the structure isn't there to keep up with it.

So what…we all know they will never reach Nazi numbers. They’ll never get close to 6 million. BUT AT LEAST THEY ARE TRYING. We should just be happy someone is trying to ruin the lives of our children, and not compare them to the dominate evil powers of history.

Its obviously not done intentionally, but its definitely there, and its a logo that hundreds of kids and families are going to wear on gear moving forward. And plenty of people who see this logo will continue to make this association - many obv wont - but there will be people everywhere who see that logo and associate it.

Seems pretty avoidable from a club image standpoint...

God this forum sucks. Someone should check the Great Seal of the United States of America. A bird. An eagle. Wings pointing in the same direction -- "displayed" in heraldic terms. Arrows and an olive branch in its talons.

Noted, but the club's logo is far more akin to the Nazi parteiadler that the U.S. seal. An eagle with wings raised, featuring horizontal feathers, square head, looking over its left "shoulder." Go ahead and justify the club's choice all you want. Talk about the historical use of eagles as symbols for various nations and their militaries. However, it does not allow you or the club to avoid the similarity between the new logo and a Nazi symbol. It was a bad choice, and it's about to result in some bad press coverage.
