well divide 55 by 8, so it sounds like approx 7 each. thats a nice start, then add in some local/regional talent

Anyone know the difference in prices for tickets? Timbers vs Thorns? Also curious about salary comparisons.
It will be interesting to see how full the stadium gets with the Thorns. Will it be half full? Obviously, price will make a difference. I am a medium level Timbers fan. I do not hold season tickets but I try to find a way to get my family to 2 or 3 games per season. I would actually go more if my family had more free time. I think it's great that women's soccer has this opportunity, I just wonder if it is ready to be successful just yet. I will make an attempt to check out the thorns, but I have to be honest, I won't pay top dollar. I imagine Portland will support their team better than just about anyone but I can't see the Thorns operating in the black for some time. Maybe I am wrong. I just hope that they didnt roll it out too early, not get the support, lose money, and see it dismissed.
I know soccer is nothing like the WNBA. I can't watch more than 2 seconds of WNBA without changing the channel and would never buy a ticket. I do think soccer is different. Watching Abby Wambach finish that header against Brazil in extra time was one of the most thrilling games I have seen men or women. But still, when you compare Timbers vs Thorns, as with any big sport, the big $ and support is with the men.
