As we are still not on par with the rest of the country where US ID Camps are proven to be on the right track and placing more kids into higher levels now. UYSA ODP has been dropped by multiple states so far and is dying out.
However for Oregon to have a competitive ODP program that is fair they should run it to closely match with the other states that still ODP programs.
Here is how they other states do it to ensure equal chances for all kids who want to participate.
1. Break the state into regions, Example Oregon should probably have 3 regions. (Portland-Salem Region, Rogue Valley Region, and South Eastern Region) Each region holds there own tryouts.
2. have all 3 regions than try out for the state pool that trains for a few month to take make the final teams. (If available team selections should be made by "Qualify coaches from each region team."
3. Then allow the state team to compete for a chance to make the NW region team, and then nation pool from there.
Until some form of this happens than ODP for Oregon is a waste of time and money as the Oregon is most likely not representing its best players.
I just got back from scouting what's left of the US South East regional tryouts and FAR more competitive, organized, and run the right way. Night and day so far from what I seen here.

With your claimed knowledge and wisdom, it seems you've been in a deep coma since 2012. This would explain your failure to mention the purpose and function of the Oregon Olympic Development Program (ODP), which, since 2012, has served as a means of generating additional revenue for the unethical Timbers/Thorns circus.
The sham involving the Timbers/Thorns and OYSA has recently come to an end. Therefore, it's not surprising that OYSA is ill-suited and incapable of providing a worthwhile ODP program for the state of Oregon.
Remember, decisions have consequences

Well, if you think ODP is anything but a political game you're insane.
Look at the younger age groups prior to ODP. Meaning tryouts. Then after. Meaning look at what clubs populated the roster in regards to whom was directing certain ages per RTC.
You'll see a connection.
Then track that to where those players who didn't make RTC ended up after tryouts.
There you go.
So no, Oregon is not relevant anymore.

Oregon ODP - you are embarrassing the entire state, not just the soccer community. If you're going to do nothing whatsoever, at least be consistent. Don't do WORSE than NOTHING.
Yes, coaches, you're paid and also on the hook for doing the harm that you're so quick to absolve from yourselves behind the notion of "scouts".
Lastly.... yes, I do think ODP staff/coaches read this ****. They care so damn much about prioritizing politics (over real skill and heart) because they're vain. Heyyyyyy Mannnnn!! You feel ok?

How is there so much inconsistency from one year to the next? Time to hit reset on this thing

It’s basically United and opfc kids. Those 2 teams are the most dominant, and have been in the finals the last 2 years.
