Please double and triple-check the list of kids you're sending to Regional Camps this summer.

Are you actually sending the best kids?
Are you sending the correct number of kids based on their skill levels, team sizes, and competitiveness against the other regional states?
Are the numbers comparable between Oregon girls and boys' age groups?

The success of ODP's future participation is directly correlated to what happens with your invitation choices. ... and while "the scouts" got a few things right, they're not at fault or responsible for the overall list - you are.

Why should they double check. Once the list is out, its out. If you kid it ready to handle being cut, this isn't the program for them. Not everyone gets a trophy.

ODP is flawed regardless of Oregon. If you think Oregon is the worse offender you are wrong. Btw, the scouts do pick the team that represents the West, and by and large that team is already picked before Utah.

I should've said best kids in each age/gender.

Scenario: Should 50 2010B go to Regional Camp vs. 10 2010G (when the girls are very competitive within the region and had the same number of kids in the program.) It seems like the quantities of invites should be closer than they are now.

I don’t know why anyone cares about ODP so much?! It’s such a bygone dead thing. Literally no serious coaches look at this as a player proving ground. It’s so bad compared to ECNL showcases and even GA, let alone MLS Next.

Let this thing die already. You should know it’s bad when they can only get low level OYSA coaches and half of them show up to training less than 50% of the time.

Just a guess - because that was either her dad's last name or a husband's last name. Either one of them very likely got their last name from their father. It's crazy stuff, but that's how last names usually work in America
