A better question is Does Jodel Wright have a clue about what he's doing? All losses, no goals scored. Let's hope the next two go better.

The bottom line is that the Timbers academy does not value development as evident by TA program and how many players they have developed to be on the first team…

I don’t think this is a coaching issue. I think this is a development and selection process issue. What has been done to develop players and did the best players get picked for the TA? Evaluate the discovery program and its goals…measure those goals and adjust if you don’t hit the goal. Now for selection of players there are good players at some clubs not part of the TA and some clubs have lots of players selected. I speculate that lineage and which club you play for has a huge impact on if you make the team for everyone except for the top 5 players in the TA.

For better or worse, these are the guys he wants. I think we're seeing that the training for many of this group prior to getting to this level has been sub-optimal, and that's primarily on Portland-area clubs and coaches. Surely the academy training will be better.

Oregon 09s can't score goals... look at the state cup final. Two "good" offenses vs two average defenses and the only goal scored was on a ridiculous keeper error.
