    FarWest Regional ECNL

Will these team play in a separate league or still play in OYSA too ?

They will play in OYSA and ECRL. ECRL will only be a few weekends, probably one in Idaho and two in Oregon.

ECRL seems a bit like smoke and mirrors. Personally feel like they’re just using it to increase the fees at our club.

All of youth soccer is smoke and mirrors and just a money grab. Even ECNL so United folks don’t kid yourself! You just have it a tad better than everyone else because you’re at the 2nd highest level (MLS NXT is top dog). However OPFC seems to have mastered this… first Elite Academy for a year then E64 for a year and then when they realized the parents weren’t down for that and wanted something even more elite and a cooler patch for their kid’s jersey/more elite bumper sticker for their range rovers all because of the specter of UPDX/ECNL so the clubs got nervous and didn’t want to lose kids ($2-3k in reg fees per kid adds up!) so they got together with a bunch of other clubs and tried to convince everyone (including UPDX) to start an Oregon premier league. Then they realized it wasn’t sexy enough to get enough traction from more than 4 clubs and it wasn’t elite enough of a name to warrant higher fees so they said let’s try to start the ECRL (regional league) but call it ECNL in all of our decks and social media posts and club correspondence and maybe the parents will be confused and who cares that we will be on our 3rd different Elite league in 3 years maybe they won’t notice we are horing around. Well, if the parents at CFC OPFC WM and Eugene arent laughing at each other… the other clubs looking in from the outside are surely laughing at them you can bet your bottom dollar because they’re all gonna realize ECRL means shiznit and the promises of entry into the actual ECNL won’t materialize until their kids are aged out.. if ever

I wonder if WA RCL teams or WPL will try to join or if they're even allowed to joined.

It does seem OPFC are looking for the label that makes them better, but in the end they are OYSA. Sad they can't be comfortable in their own skin

When you have nothing to offer locally, you have to sell BS. And the sad thing is, it works.
