Womens soccer neglected in Oregon? We literally have the most successful club in the womens game. Every club has licensed coaches for their girls programs. More female participants across the state than male…
But what we really need is some washed up pros to step in on the womens side and throw some “camps” because you didn’t play professionally for a Portland franchise unless you steal money from kids.
Also since this is a way to give back to the community where will this be held? I guarantee you it’s a very white community. Because remember unless you’re white and upper middle class we don’t care about you as a player - United PDX

This news is neither "wow!" nor "how dare they!?".
Like most things, it's "meh".
Pro players lending their names to a soccer camp, often in cooperation with a local club, have been going on for a very long time. Most such camps are not intended or targeted for elite players, and many exist mainly to keep kids off screens during the summer months.
Nobody cares.

Women’s soccer different than girls’ soccer. But let’s roll with it…
Thorns don’t have their own dedicated practice facility. New coach every year. Abuse has been rampant. Thorns academy is not fully subsidized and families have to still shell out $1000+ in reg fees every year vs free for Timbers academy.
All ECNL road matches for Thorns and NW Elite require flights as they are in Utah and Colorado. Much more expensive for your daughter to player ECNL and Thorns academy then your son.
And many more boys play than girls in Oregon. Not even close. You got some wrong info.
Washed up Portland pro’s? Dunn and Smith are US national team stars about to rise to more national prominence after the World Cup this summer. Another player featured is team captain for Costa Rica. And not sure where the event will be held but sure, if it fits your narrative just spew BS and hope something sticks?
More of these events for the youth soccer community. Rather pay to have pros coach my kids than angry, washed up, money-grabbing Brits working towards their green cards.

(An anonymous fool, but still... ) Could it be because overall, your record against OPFC at all ages and gender, is below 500? I mean, thawould be a good reason! I have a feeling there's more to it though. As they say in the south to those who are dim, foolish, addled or stupid..."Bless your heart." Which actually "Eff off."
