    Benefit of ECNLR

I think ECNLR will benefit Oregon soccer.

    1) Minimize the impact of OYSA in premier soccer to allow OYSA to focus on recreational and select soccer
    2) Provide access to ECNL events
    3) Possible future pathway to ECNL

A lot of complaining, and i know everyone wants to do it their way. But take a step back and consider if it goes well.

So much bitching about OYSA, GA, etc. for so long. Maybe if we can all get behind something it would benefit the kids instead of our own agenda.

Pretty funny, You could actually do the same thing through OYSA. OYSA does not want to run leagues, only sanction them. The only reason OYSA is running leagues now is because of the out cry to get rid of the Timbers and Thorns leagues. Look at the boys Oregon teams doing ECNL, EAL, they are all in OYSA because OYSA is what is right for Oregon, just ask the OPL of years ago.

The group heading up the ECNL Regional League in Oregon has one agenda, money, your money. Guess what, the Timbers had one agenda, your money.

Put our money where your mouth is. Create an OYSA league with transparent financials that only charges registration to cover league expenses. Require non profit clubs to do the same (PCU is a sick money grab and JE you know it)

Or, instead of trying to fix what has been broken for years in OR, join ECNLR.

It’s all supplemental and if you can afford it then why not?

I don’t see the difference than eul or e64 or the NW league stuff but my kids are not on those teams anyway.

That's the thing, they are both broken. OYSA does provide a pathway to a new league a group could run. Again, OYSA shouldn't and does not want to run leagues. ECNLR is a league that is already broke, similar to Timbers and Thorns.

What your supporting is playing against OPFC, WSM, EST, CFC and Then Idaho Rush and Boise Timbers. This was the old EAL plus a few more Oregon teams. I don't see any additional value above OYSA here. Boise and Idaho are equal to PCU, ADF, etc.

In many age-groups, these Oregon clubs don't even have a competitive team in OYSA Premier Gold.

ECRL is a way to called themselves "elite" even if they are not.

They don't want to compete and develop players, they just want to be labeled the bestest and most specialist snowflakes in youth soccer in order to recruit and market.

U12 Boys Spring League - WSM no Premier Gold team, Eugene no premier Gold team, CFC finished 10th out of 12 teams
U13 Boys Spring League - WSM no Premier Gold team, Eugene no premier Gold team
U14 Boys Spring League - Eugene 5th out of 9 teams, CFC 7th out of 9 teams
U15 Boys Winter League - Eugene 6th out of 6 teams
U16 Boys Winter League - Eugene no premier Gold Team, WSM 5th out of 6 teams
U17 Boys Winter League - CFC 5th out of 6 teams, Eugene 6th out of 6 teams, WSM no Premier Gold Team
U18/U19 Boys Winter League - Eugene 6th out of 12 teams, WSM 7th out of 12 teams, CFC 8th out of 12 teams

ECRL is a joke and a way to get parents to pay big bucks for a second tier league. “Pathway to ECNL” is hilarious! More like “Pathway to an empty wallet” when your kid isn’t good enough to play ECNL. Spend your money on a trainer instead- much better investment.

IWhy do you think the clubs are making more with ecnl than any other league?

ECNL is going to cash in, just like MP did for years

It's the same method of recruiting & marketing the clown start up con shows at Soccer Chance Academy & ADF lean into as well; Being as Self Proclaimed 'Soccer Academies' in Oregon. Thank God their is requirement for truth in advertising

The major issue I see is why travel to Idaho to play the same level of competition that is already in your backyard here in OR, or in some cases why travel to Idaho to play in a couple of weekend games that include teams that are headquartered less than 30 min away from home.

Yep, back in your day it was so much better. Either do something about it or know your role and quit bitching.

Just to be clear back in my day there weren't any yanks selling 'soccer' in the township. It was better, much.

Now with the importation of Fraudulent con artists into the United States who are selling supposed soccer coaching expertise to unsuspecting American parents. As someone from a country where soccer is a national sport, it is disheartening to see individuals lacking authentic skill and knowledge taking advantage of naïve parents. These self proclaimed "experts" are often foreigners who failed miserably in their own countries-- but magically succeed in the US thanks to their accents and the word "Academy". It's both frustrating and absurdly comical to see the upside-down world of youth American sports. We must take action to expose and end this fraudulent activity. Let's not allow these fraudsters to exploit our passion for sports and our children's dreams.
